It's weird, but I never expected my Chevy Equinox to be the most reliable vehicle. We haven't had to do a major repair and there aren't many recalls on it like my other vehicles. Prior to that, my Nissan Sentra was a good one.

I had an old Honda that I ran for 15 years with no major trouble. By the time I got rid of it, it was 21 years old and a few non-essential things had failed with age but it would still start first time, every time.

Every year it would need a couple of minor things to get through its annual inspection but it was always cheap. One year my manager commented that I seemed to have a lot of trouble with my car because it needed something else that was maybe $200 to keep it going. I said it was an old car and just needed some TLC to keep it ticking. That year he had a major failure on his car that cost him nearly $5000. It took him a while to live that one down.

I've owned Toyotas and a Subarus. Both have been remarkably reliable and durable.

Toyota and Ford SUVs have been pretty solid for me over the years since I started making use of them. I'm not a car person. If it's not SUV, I'm not interested in the vehicle.

The Kia I had had over 250,000 miles on it when my daughter wrecked the car and totaled it. It never had a problem with it the whole time I owned it. Yes, my daughter is fine by the way. That happened many years ago.
