Amazing... Incredible... One MORE example.....

Donald Trump called on Putin and Russia to wage war again NATO nations.... Our friends, our allies. Inviting WAR. By Russia. Against Western democracies, our allies, our friends.

I wonder how this is playing in Canada, UK, Denmark, Germany and other NATO nations....

Has ANYTHING like this EVER happened in American history? By anyone, much less a former PRESIDENT and a person running to be PRESIDENT, invited a enemy country, a dictator, to wage war against our friends, our allies, fellow democracies?

It's bizarre, given the whole point of NATO is the thing about "an attack on one is an attack on all". So unless he actually wants to initiate World War III it's hard to see what he's hoping to gain from this.

The wider context was, if I recall, an invitation to attack members who weren't putting enough of their GDP into defense spending rather than simply extending an invitation in general. I suppose the point was to encourage other members to put up the cash, but it's a bizarre way of doing it. Although that said it's easy to join an alliance if someone else will pick up all the costs while you find something else to do with the money you were supposed to be putting into the agreement.

No. And it didn't happen in this case either.

Everyone should have figured out by now that the opposition, being faced with having to field an incompetent against Trump this November, has little else to offer the voters except for fables like this one?

In a way, I can't be too surprised, given that when I tried to run down the specifics of this story ("Russia Russia Russia Hoax Part II") I had to wade through about fifteen leftist media articles on my search engine, one after another, before locating the facts of this matter.

It is not a fable. I was watching it live on youtube. He did said two things that were very disturbing in that speech.

1. He asked where Nikki Haley's husband was, insinuating that he didn't support her campaign. That is disturbing because it is common knowledge that her husband is deployed in Africa as an officer in the National Guard. It is also ironic because his wife hasn't been at any campaign events. At best, he was ignorant (which I doubt). At worst, he was making fun of her husband's service to our country. Are Republican's now anti-military??? Do Republicans no longer honor and respect the sacrifice of that families make when someone is deployed?

2. He made the remark about NATO. Basically saying that if they don't pay there dues then he would encourage Russia "to do whatever the H*ll it wants". I literally gasp a little when he said it. Whatever beef a President has with the NATO countries should not be brought out in public. It could very easily give Putin the idea that if/when Trump is President he actually can "Do whatever the H*ll he wants'.

It is one thing to privately tell NATO leaders that their lack of funding jeopardizes our ability to help defend their country. It is another to blast it in a campaign stop.

His speech was irresponsible and dangerous.

It tracks with what Trump has been saying about NATO countries since he was a candidate last time around.

The longer quote was this:
“Well sir, if we don’t pay, and we’re attacked by Russia – will you protect us?” Trump quoted the leader as saying.
“I said: ‘You didn’t pay? You’re delinquent?’ He said: ‘Yes, let’s say that happened.’ No, I would not protect you. In fact, I would encourage them to do whatever the hell they want,” Trump said,

Countries are supposed to commit at least 2% of GDP to defense, only 35% are doing so which means that 65% are delinquent in their obligations to the organization.

The only countries other than the USA meeting that 2%+ are Estonia, Finland, Greece, Hungary, Romania, Latvia, Lithuania, Slovakia, the United Kingdom and Poland (and Sweden when they are admitted). That's it. Not Germany, not France, not Italy, not Spain, not Turkey, not even Canada. The largest economies in NATO (save a few) are not meeting their military expenditure requirements.

They need to step up with their military funding and pay what they agreed to or voluntarily bow out of NATO (there is no mechinism to kick a country out of NATO). If they don't then why should the USA be the country to foot their defense? Article 5 isn't automatic, it has to be agreed by all of the countries.

They have been relying on the USA as an umbrella for decades, and even more now with a belligerent Russia. If they don't step up to what they already committed to then the USA should not be in NATO, there is little military benefit to us in that case. A stronger NATO is good for all the allies, keeping them safe and all of us stronger.

This is what the President was saying.

Yup. It's undeniable. Although some just don't care, they will support and defend Trump no matter what. No matter what.

He invited Putin to wage war against those NATO countries who aren't paying enough money into NATO. These include Germany, Italy, Spain, Turkey and Canada - among others. Yup. Putin was invited by Trump to attack Canada. And Germany. And others. Allies. Democracies.

One of the things Trump lovers insist they like about him, one reason they support him, is that Trump says what he means and means what he says. Let's hope they are wrong, very wrong. And that the world knows this man is, well....

This is what the President was saying.
I understand what he was saying.

Germany will meet the 2% this year. France will either this year or next year. Almost every NATO country has increased defense spending since Russia invaded Ukraine. The number meeting 2% this year is expected to go from 11 to 18.

There is a time and a place to deal with countries that aren't meeting the 2% amount. Making a threat in a campaign stop in South Carolina isn't one of those places. Especially, the way it was worded, basically encouraging Russia to loot and pillage countries that don't meet the standard.

Putin is crazy enough to consider what Trump said to mean the US will sit out any invasion of any NATO country. That is a dangerous message to send.

and this was Trump himself commenting on something he'd said years earlier. At that time, it was rightly understood, both here and abroad, as a typical Trump kind of joke.

Very well. You can say that, and you do have a point, but it does not address the statements that prompted my reply here.

Crazy enough to think Trump speaks truth? That he "means what he says and says what he means" (a chief reason Trump supporters give for their love of him)? Some might think it's not Putin who is crazy..... Should we be required to HOPE that no one takes Trump seriously, HOPE that they realize he doens't mean what he says or say what he means? HOPE no one takes the President of the USA seriously?

Really? Then why is it that Putin didn't invade Ukraine while Trump was president, but did so during the administrations of both Obama (before Trump) and Biden (after Trump)?

And yes, I know that Ukraine is not a NATO member, but since technicalities aren't supposed to matter in this discussion, and NATO nations will be imperiled if Ukraine falls....well, you know)

Who knows? Maybe he just wasn't ready. Or maybe he thought he could take advantage of the world being distracted by Covid. There could be any number of reasons. Just because he didn't invade during the Trump presidency doesn't mean that Trump was the reason he didn't invade.

But of course, the armchair quarterbacks know precisely what the consequences were going to be of Trump making a casual comment to a third party, right? C'mon.

That's certainly possible. At the same time, it's too bad that the comments I read and replied to didn't take that tempered approach which you are now advocating.

Let's try not to overdramatize this.

It was a frustrated, snap reply to someone who had the gall to tell the American president to his face that the USA (which is less threatened by a Russian invasion than almost any of the other NATO members and already pays more to NATO than any other one) ought to go to war to defend that other person's country even though it refuses to pay its own share.

There is a changing of the spiritual authorities over the country. See (Dan. 10:13) (Dan. 10:20)

We were a 'sheep' nation but are becoming a 'goat nation'. (Matt. 25:31-33)

The changing in this country of the dominant race from Japheth to Ham brings with it the curse and lack of blessing. (Gen. 9:24-27)

My opinion.

I think the last survey showed that we are no longer a Christian nation.

I never said we know the "precise" consequences. Non of us have a crystal ball into the future. Putin could already be planning an attack on a NATO country and Trumps words only reinforce his decision. Or Putin's desire to reunify the Soviet States could be overblown by the NATO countries (and media) and Trumps words will have no effect whatsoever.

The point is, when a President (or Candidate) speak, be it in a news conference, a speech, or an interview, what they say means something. So much about being President (or any political leader) is sending messages by what they say. They indicate what they support, what they don't support, and how the will react whenever the speak in public. That is why a President needs to have a carefully controlled message and discipline in what the say in public. In this area, Trump was a terrible President. His speeches are personal attacks and impromptu statements (that are often factually untrue), speculations, and whatever is going through his mind at the time of the speech. The few times he actually sticks to the prepared statements then he is okay. But most of the time he just rambles and often says hateful and stupid things.

Well, I disagree with that to a degree, not that blacks are not being played. The way I look at it is, outside of God no one knows the human psyche better than satan. I believe the shift in this country is due to the ( white) or rather white Kabbalist whom God calls " the violent among Daniel's people". They took satan up on his offer presented to Christ and the kingdoms of the world they have recieved.

Follow the money. At the top of the pyramid is no black man. Banking, finance, corporations, entertainment, news and education is not owned by blacks. The ones in charge tell you their "vision" through media, they set the trends, they are who form this nations policies-" Issue me control of a nations money and I care not for their laws". There is one group of people at the top. They know they must divide to conquer- " A kingdom divided against itself cannot stand"- Christ.

They are simply at the pinnacle of power now and must corrupt absolutely in order for their false messiah to be brought forth. The chip on the shoulder of many blacks is simply a societal consturct of satan over time. Outside of God, as I said, no one knows the humans psyche better than him. Afterall, he formed the fallen nature.

" I will have you not ignorant of this fact - first a falling away must occur..... lawlessness will abound....then the man of sin will be revealed". Desolation is decreed to the end. From desolation of the human genome to growing wars and implementation of AI, things are looking very grim for all of us. The only thing that matters is the soul.

Daniel 10:13 already happened and you are misappropriating scripture concerning timing. In Daniel it states in a passage " And on the wing of the temple will come the abomination of desolation" that is a riddle and not a complicated one with God revealing its meaning. " On the wing" is an idiom and means (in flight of something or to flee). That means those who fled the destruction of the second temple, it will be from them -moving forward, from whom the abomination of desolation would come. Not Persia.

Islam is a tool in satan's arsenal but those destroying nations with their policies are the Kabbalist and they aint Persian. The Persians will be brought into a war that the Kabbalist provoke. This war is needed to bring the world to its knees to recieve their false messiah. Russia and China are the big guns, they will bring great destruction.

Geopolitical shifts will occur and sides will be taken. The elites at the top- they will be safe in the clefts of the rocks - bunkers/beast out of the earth when things really pop off. For a time they will be safe in their nest in the stars too..........However, the 6th seal will fix them and entrap them in the earth and kill the wicked upon the earth, while the first trumpet will cast down their nest in the stars. Then a time of peace on behalf of the elect.

As the Lord said to Daniel " they will not accomplish/realize their Vision". Persia doesn't have a nest in the stars. Obadiah reveals who does. No space power for Persia. Your interp is one all over the internet and is from the Kabbalah practioners. But who cares, the poop is about to hit the fan anyways and only the 1000th generation of those who love God will see all things unfold and be last to stand against the fallen angels and Nephilim. " This generation shall not pass away until all these things have happened" And many of that elect will be snatched up by Christ at the last trumpet. They will have an immediate death and resurrection- in a twinkling ✨ of an eye.

I think the USA is in decline both spiritually and morally. And has been for several decades.

Precisely.

We should not be mandated to HOPE that the PRESIDENT of the most powerful nation on earth doesn't mean what he says. We should not have to HOPE that no one makes him seriously or believes him.

Ironic... because Trump lovers often give the reason for their almost religious love for Trump is that Trump means what he says and says what he means. And yet... over and over again... he says shocking and to many very offensive things and his supporters insist "but he didn't mean it." Hum.

So much about being President (or any political leader) is sending messages by what they say. I completely agree.

I am a very conservative Republican, very pro-life, very pro-family... part of what used to be called "The Christian Right." And I generally agree with Trump on ISSUES and generally approve of the governmental actions he took... and very pleased with his SCOTUS appointments. It's HIM I find offensive, unacceptable, despicable and embarrassing. His offensive comments about women and female genitals, his childish "kindergartener" name calling, his comments like Russia is welcomed to wage war against NATO countries .... and on and on and on and on and on. I have relatives in Denmark who tell me he is often seen as a JOKE in Europe; one told me the news reported something he said when president and then laughed out loud at him commenting, "And HE'S president of the United States!" You never know what incredible stuff will come from his mouth (or cell phone).
