As you get older, do you find that you have forgotten a lot of the bible studies you went through in past years? How do you retain that information you learned?
I have found that age doesn't matter. It was easy to forget when I was young as when I am older. Write it down.
When I do a personal Bible study, I get my Bible, and some books on the subject, or on a Book of the Bible. I picture myself in a classroom lecture as I read, and so I take notes as I read and study.
You can't possibly remember everything, but the more you go over it, the more you remember. As one Bible teacher said, 'repetition is the price of knowledge'. (2 Peter 1:13) (3:1)
Then when you're done with the study, categorize it and put it away to be used when you need them. Because you will always need them again. And when you need them again, you will add more notes to them.
This is especially true when you get into topics that are very lengthy and intricate , based on knowledge of history and Bible. Such as the Canon of Scripture. Or the very translations of the Bible. Or the time order of Last days events involving the books of (Daniel) and (Revelation). You must have your notes to go back and review.
The same is true on the forums. When you get in a serious discussion or debate that will demand a lot of time, take notes.
