How do prophecies work in the Bible: were all things pre-planned (by someone? by God?) and then simply presented to the prophets in order for them to let the world about the way in which things would unfold,... or did things happen due to human choices and God simply watched from outside of time and presented to the prophets what He saw was unfolding?
My opinion is this: God presented to the prophets the future events, because He knew what He was going to do. And He knew the responses of the nations and individuals involved because their responses were directed by Him.
(Acts 15:18) "Known unto God are all his works from the beginning of the world."
No. God did not just look into the future and see what was going to happen, and then relayed that message to the prophets. Such a view means God is not in control of the future. Such a view means that God is not God.
Things happened through 'human choices'. Both good and bad. Man exercised his will, whether good or bad. And man is accountable for his decisions, whether good or bad.
But God, because He is God, can manuver His will throughout the maze of mans will, whether their will is good or bad.
Futuristic prophecy is God foretelling what He is going to do.
