What are some benefits of reading the Bible even if you aren’t necessarily a believer?

My initial response to this question was 'no benefits' to an unbeliever reading the Bible. But then I'm sure there are those who decide to seek after God and they know the Bible is a book about God. So there is a time element where they read the Bible as an unbeliever and then God opens their eyes to the truth about Jesus Christ and they believe. But that is one who is sincerely seeking.

To all others, unbelievers, who read the Bible for whatever reason, I see no benefit to them. And reading the Bible in unbelief is proabably more a detriment than a benefit. My opinion.

Being a 'good' person has a snag. It is more difficult for someone who sees themselves as 'good' to also see themselves as 'sinful' in desperate need of a Savior.

Absolutely! If you think you're pleasing God so much by your works then why would you need Jesus' death and resurrection?

1.Since the Holy Spirit works in and through His Word, an unbeliever may come under conviction of their sinfulness through His Word.
2. If they happen to be one of the 'elect', God can use His Word to call them to Himself.

I had no interest in the Bible until my first conversion. Before then I just went to church for Bible school cookies or to play drums, stuff like that.
