What would happen if the police pulled over a self-driving car and found the only occupant in the back passenger seat, intoxicated? Would there be a DWI charge?

I guess that would depend on the local laws at the time. It does seem like having a vehicle that can drive you home from the pub if you're not in a fit state to drive is an obvious advantage of self-driving vehicles, if they reach a stage where they are allowed to drive in fully autonomous mode without anyone behind the wheel.
