CH News - Hosting had issues

We sincerely apologize for the sudden downtime of the site. Our host had issues and the recovery of the site took longer than they anticipated.

To be frank, I was getting concerned.....

I became addicted to discussion forums like this when I was a young (maybe 10 or so). And I had all the early ones die. And yeah, I grieved (lol). That was decades ago but still.... the memory of that struck me as I saw CH not coming back up .

When a site dies (or just gets sick), usually the members scatter and loose contact with each other. Interesting when CH started, it was almost like a reunion - LOTS of folks I had lost tract of (and missed) were here (at least to check it out).

Everyone should know that CH has a facebook page where we can keep in touch in case CH is having problems and even if it ends (for some reason). And some of us have each other's email addresses. I know you have everyone's email.

Well, I'm relieved. And glad.

Some people have chosen to "opt out" of emails though, so we prefer to just make the announcement on Facebook. The good thing is you don't have to be a member on Facebook to look at our page there.

Has anyone else been experiencing occasional errors from the hosting? Saying that the account is suspended? It has happened a few times over the last couple of weeks. It has only impacted this website, AFAIK.

Happened to me this morning.... Actually, everything was REALLY slow, then..... "account suspended"

I saw the "account suspended" message for a day or so.

Is this a problem specific to the hosting company? I've never seen the problem with any other site.

To provide clarification to the suspensions.
USHost247’s server was being unstable due to the cpanel account that runs this forum. After thorough investigation, we identified an issue with sleep queries which was causing severe strain on the server and causing it to become unresponsive. We had to suspend this account until it could be investigated and the issue corrected. We have since performed maintenance on the server and made some changes. We will continue monitoring the server stability and the loads to ensure the server is stable and responsive to everyone. We do appreciate your concerns and patience.
