Is it morally wrong to not visit a loved one with dementia or Alzheimer's in a nursing home? What is the point of visiting if they don't remember you, or won't remember you ever visited?

Yes. My dad is happy when we come. But the guy who works there said that I should tell my mom she doesn't have to come every day, cause every other day is fine. It's way too much for her.

It's really up to the individual.

Years ago I knew a guy in his 80s who visited his wife in the nursing home every single day, without fail. She had dementia sufficiently advanced she didn't even know who he was. But as he put it, he knew who she was and he visited her until the day she died.
