A Minnesota Democrat in the state legislature is facing criticism after alllegedly posting online that White Christians who adopt Native American children are contributing to "genocide."
"I’m sick of white Christians adopting our babies and rejoicing," Minnesota State Rep. Heather Keeler posted on her personal Facebook page recently, according to Alpha News.

I'd like to have a better understanding of what she's hoping to change. ICWA (referenced briefly in the article) provides so that the tribe has to waive its rights for an indigenous child to be adopted through the system by a white family (or any family, really). The only way I could see ICWA not working to keep an adoption of an indigenous child is if the tribe does not have a family to adopt the child. At least that's my understanding of it.
