Right Dave. But if you want to look down your nose at *un-elect* children and infants, it's their physical death that is the proof of their wickedness. But you're physical death, well, that means something else.

You realize how hypocritical you are, don't you? The double standard in your arguments stinks to high heaven.

But you have no qualms using death as a proof of wickedness, as you did when you said

"Why do children die if not for sin? If God does not hate sinners, why did Christ die in the place of the elect?" (post #37)

But now when it's turned on you, it isn't a proof wickedness at all.


Or will you argue that you've lived however long you have because of your elect righteousness status. I'd be amused to hear that one too, given how many mass murderers there have been in the world that lived to ripe old ages.

Perhaps your understanding is corrupt. Infants cannot speak to tell lies (vrs 3) or have teeth to break (vrs 6) or hands that do violence (vrs 2). The "womb" is a metaphor for the birth of a sinful choice of a person, which leads to more wickedness, like lies, and hands that do violence.

I know this understanding is a little high for the standard run-of-the-mill Xian though, having learned from Saul/Paul how to take Scriptures out of their context on a routine basis...

If you had bothered to read the whole psalm, you would understand that it takes place right after Nathan reveals to David that David's sin (of adultery with Bathsheba and murder of her husband Uriah) will result in the death of his child and a "sword that will never depart" his house. 2 Samuel chapter 12.

While David is praying and asking for cleansing of his own sin, he is also thinking of his son, who was conceived in that sin. These verses were never meant to be cherry picked out of their contexts to prop up some theology.
