New Forum/Thread Ignoring System In Place

Hello CH community,

We are pleased to announce we have installed a vBulletin add-on which will allow you to ignore any forums and threads you choose. If you visit your User Control Panel (click the "Settings" link at the top of the page) and you will see in the sidebar on the left a new link in the "My Account" section labeled "Thread & Forum Ignore Lists" and if you click that you will be taken to the settings for this product.

In the top section, you will find 3 options with checkboxes. All 3 checkboxes are checked by default.

1.) New Posts - If this checkbox is checked, then all threads and threads within forums you have chosen to ignore will be omitted from the "New Posts" search results.

2.) Today's Posts - If this checkbox is checked, then all threads and threads within forums you have chosen to ignore will be omitted from the "Today's Posts" search results. This seach link is found under the "Quick Links" drop-down menu in the nav-bar.

3.) Forum Home & Forum Display - If this checkbox is checked, then you will not even see the ignored forums in the forum listings.

In the second section you may remove some or all of the threads you are currently ignoring from the list so that they will no longer be ignored.

And in the third section you may remove some or all of the forums you are currently ignoring from the list so that they will no longer be ignored.

It's particularly useful feature for those who use the "New Posts" search, and keeps it clean of threads in which you have no interest, or from threads in forums in which you are not supposed to post.

I have a question though, if you have a thread/forum on ignore will you see them on new posts? I ask cause I am still seeing threads from forums I put on ignore.

If you have "New Posts" checked in your settings for this product, then you should not see any threads in your ignored forums in the "New Posts" search.

I only installed it...it was written by another coder who provided his add-on at vBorg (the same place I make my products available to others).

I have a question though, if you have a thread/forum on ignore will you see them on new posts? I ask cause I am still seeing threads from forums I put on ignore.

Is it because you have different permissions being an advisor for the site? They might be overriding the mod.

It should work regardless of permissions.

I don't know but its not working. I'm still seeing threads/forums I blocked.

Are you talking about seeing such threads/forums when you're not logged in?

I just want to point out that you have to be logged in for your choices to take effect...your choices are stored in the database and associated with your user account.
