I think families of this sort are little cults for the most part. You cannot expect a totally depraved child to live a holy life any more than you can expect a Smart car to do the work of a semi-truck. You will end up with a little hypocrite every time. I think churches and seminaries are overburdened with this type. One of the worst examples I can think of is Fundamentalist Baptists, many of whom beat their sons to "break their wills" so they can mold them into the greatest hypocrites ever.
