If you have always heard Christ's Olivet discourse taught with a false bias, like Preterists and Historicists often do with saying it was past history, then you are in for a treat. That because this is a teaching keeping to the actual Scripture as written linked with Bible prophecy about the very end of this present world.

Christ's Olivet discourse (while He was upon the Mount of Olives east of Jerusalem with His disciples), is hard-linked with the Seals of Revelation 6 about the END of this world. So one should do a parallel study of this with Rev.6. Just as with Christ's Book of Revelation He gave through Apostle John, He was giving 7 main SIGNS of the END leading up to His future return. Same thing here in His Olivet discourse, He is giving the same SIGNS of the Seals in His Revelation...

Matt 24:1-3
24 And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and His disciples came to Him for to shew Him the buildings of the temple.

2 And Jesus said unto them, "See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down."

3 And as He sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto Him privately, saying, "Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of Thy coming, and of the end of the world?"
KJV

Lord Jesus and His disciples go out to the Mount of Olives, east of Jerusalem, and His disciples marvel at the buildings on the temple mount. But Lord Jesus tells them (and us), there eventually won't be even one stone standing there atop another. Then His disciples ask when that will be, along with a sign of the time of His coming AND of the END of this world.

Don't allow the babblers to confuse you about that word "world" there in the KJV, trying to replace it with the word "age". They only try to make you think this was past history when it was not. This event has still yet... to happen. Even today there still are huge stones standing one on top of another there at the temple mount, and that's not even counting Islam's Dome of the Rock structure that is right upon the temple mount. Huge stones called the Western Wall or Wailing Wall, are still standing there which were part of the old structures of the 2nd temple complex. The event Lord Jesus was pointing to is for the last day of this world when He returns. There won't be ANY... stones atop another there then, unlike today.

Because Christ's disciples linked their question about those stones with the timing of the END of this world, it shows they well understood Jesus was pointing to the final end of this present world. They already knew about God's promise to end this present world some day, and bring a new heavens and a new earth. That was taught through Isaiah (the New Testament covers more about that though.)

The 1st Sign:

Matt 24:4
4 And Jesus answered and said unto them, "Take heed that no man deceive you.
KJV

Deception in the END was Christ's first main warning, and it is especially applicable for today with all the doctrines of men being passed off today as God's truth instead of what is actually written in Scripture by God Himself. This is the 1st Seal...

First Seal:

Rev 6:1-2
6 And I saw when the Lamb opened one of the seals, and I heard, as it were the noise of thunder, one of the four beasts saying, Come and see.
2 And I saw, and behold a white horse: and he that sat on him had a bow; and a crown was given unto him: and he went forth
conquering, and to conquer.
KJV

Jesus' 1st SIGN is to not allow any man to deceive us. And this rider coming on a white horse wearing a single crown, and with a bow of cheap fabric (Greek toxon), conquering, is NOT... our Lord Jesus, but an imposter coming to DECEIVE. Later in Christ's Olivet discourse He warns further about this false one coming. In Revelation 13:11 forward, He warns about this false one coming working miracles to deceive once again. In 2 Thessalonians 2:4, Apostle Paul also warns about this coming imposter for the very end playing Christ.)

Matt 24:5
5 For many shall come in My name, saying, "I am Christ"; and shall deceive many.
KJV

That is also part of Christ's 1st SIGN of warning about the END, to not let any man deceive us. The above is about the "many antichrists" John said were already at work. And there have been many of those claiming to be The Christ, but they didn't have the power of miracles to complete the deception like The Antichrist will have. Christ's main warning of this SIGN is linked with the imposter coming riding on a white horse. If you've read Rev.19, you learn that Lord Jesus will return in the future riding a white horse, but Jesus will have many crowns, not just one, and a sword that cuts both ways, and not a bow of cheap fabric. So the imposter playing Christ is to come first. Then Lord Jesus will return to destroy that imposter, just like Apostle Paul showed.

Thus the above picture is the proper interpretation of John's "antichrist" idea of 1 John 2:18. That actual Scripture mentions 2 antichrist types, the first is a SINGULAR Antichrist, representing the coming false-Christ on that 1st Seal white horse, and the "many antichrists" represent his servants that are already at work on earth, like those who have claimed... to be Jesus Christ, but with no power to work the great signs and wonders we are warned about.

Something to remember about this first Seal, this false one coming on a white horse in place of Christ does not show up until a later Seal.

2nd SIGN:

Matt 24:6
6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
KJV

Most preachers won't teach about Jesus' last phrase there with, "but the end is not yet". They mainly concentrate on that wars and rumours of war idea in relation to the many wars of history and wars still going on in today's world. Some of them even wrongly preach an all out WWIII for the very end of this world which is NOT written. And many of them are hoping you hear about those wars so often that you'll begin to believe it, instead of heeding what Lord Jesus said there. So what did He say there above?

Very simple, Jesus is saying that as long as you hear of wars and rumors of wars, THEN THE END IS NOT YET. That can mean only one thing, that the END is not about wars and rumors of war. So what is the opposite of the idea of wars and rumors of wars? It is a time of world peace.

World peace for the very end is what was prophesied in Daniel 8, and is to be used by the final coming false one at the end per Daniel 8:25. It even says he will cause craft to prosper through his hand. Revelation 13:4-8 reveals the whole... world will worship the "dragon", except for those whose names were written in the book of life from the foundation of the world (i.e., Christ's faithful Church).

Also in 1 Thessalonians 5, Apostle Paul showed that when they, (the deceived), begin to say, "Peace and safety", then "sudden destruction" shall come upon them. Paul was pointing to the world peace at the very END of this world that Lord Jesus revealed with, "but the end is not yet", as long as we hear of wars and rumors of wars. That "sudden destruction" Paul showed is about the destruction upon this earth by God's consuming fire burning man's works off this earth, on the final day of this world, what Paul and Peter called "the day of the Lord" (see 2 Peter 3:10).

So is it really possible to get all that meaning just out of that one verse by our Lord Jesus? You bet it is, IF... you've done your homework in the rest of His written Word, and listen to Him instead of men's agendas. Does the 2nd Seal of Revelation 6 match this idea?

Second Seal:

Rev 6:3-4
3 And when he had opened the second seal, I heard the second beast say, Come and see.
4 And there went out another horse that was red: and power was given to him that sat thereon to take peace from the earth, and that they should kill one another: and there was given unto him a
great sword.
KJV

There it is, the idea of a red war horse, taking peace from the earth. And what's the opposite of the idea of peace? War. That is exactly what Lord Jesus was contrasting with His 2nd SIGN in His Olivet discourse, the difference in time between a time wars and rumors of war vs. a time of world peace at the END. Are we there yet today in that world peace? Not the time of world 'peace' yet, no. Wars are still going on today. The time at the very end is to be a time of "Peace and safety" for the wicked and deceived, like Apostle Paul said. Revelation 13:4 even asks the question, "... who is able to make war with him?" When all nation's militaries are controlled by a one-world government, it cannot make war upon itself. Mankind has never... in history ever seen that manifest on this earth. There has always risen another world beast kingdom more powerful that would destroy the previous beast system. For the very end, the coming one-world beast government can only be destroyed by Christ's future coming. That is the very subject in the Daniel 2 chapter which doesn't get much pulpit play (see Daniel 2:34-35; Daniel 2:44-45).

Remember this. Those living at the very end will see this difference very clearly when the "one world government" is finalized over all peoples and nations, and all wars have stopped. Then the coming Antichrist will cause craft to prosper, and by that along with the power of deceiving signs and wonders and miracles, will deceive the whole world, except Christ's elect.

3rd SIGN:

Matt 24:7-8
7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
KJV

That nation against nation, kingdom against kingdom, we are still seeing in today's world. We also are seeing famines, pestilences, and earthquakes in today's time. That is still not the "great tribulation" timing Jesus speaks of later in this chapter. These things are what He called "the beginning of sorrows". The wars and rumors of wars continue into this SIGN also.

Third Seal:

Rev 6:5-6
5 And when he had opened the third seal, I heard the third beast say, Come and see. And I beheld, and lo a black horse; and he that sat on him had a pair of balances in his hand.
6 And I heard a voice in the midst of the four beasts say, A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny; and see thou hurt not the oil and the wine.
KJV

That idea of "A measure of wheat for a penny, and three measures of barley for a penny" are expressions of famine, like it would take a whole day's wages just to buy one loaf of bread. The
pair of balances represent world commerce. So this is about a global economy. Right now in today's time, all the world's economies are being intentionally inflated. It is actually getting to the point where basic groceries are becoming very expensive. Their plan is to eventually dump individual nation's monetary systems and bring in a one-world currency for all nations. The start of this was bankers getting us off the gold standard.

4th SIGN:

Mark 13:8
8 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be earthquakes in divers places, and there shall be famines and troubles: these are the beginnings of sorrows.
KJV

Same as with the 2nd and 3rd Seals. Kingdom against kingdom, wars, famines, pestilences, and earthquakes.

Fourth Seal:

Rev 6:7-8
7 And when he had opened the fourth seal, I heard the voice of the fourth beast say, Come and see.
8 And I looked, and behold a pale horse: and his name that sat on him was Death, and Hell followed with him. And power was given unto them over the fourth part of the earth, to kill with sword, and with hunger, and with death, and with the beasts of the earth.
KJV

That is a four-stage working of the locusts of the Book of Joel. There in Joel 1, God showed those represent "a nation", a certain people strong. They represent the locust army workings on the 5th and 6th Trumpets. These have direct parallels to killing with war/military ("with sword"), which is about the final beast system military that no one will be able to make war with (Rev.13:4-8). In Joel 2, God shows these locusts represent His great army He sends against the rebellious of His people at the end of this world. (Don't believe me? Go check out Joel 2:18-25). There in Joel 2, God likened the locust army, that "nation", "and a strong", like soldiers in battle array, that if they fall on a sword they are not killed or wounded. He said they slip in through the windows like a thief. In other words, God is showing they cannot be defeated nor stopped by us, but only by God Himself.

It is about famine ("with hunger"), which we are still seeing with some poor nations today. It is about death especially spiritual death of one's soul through the deceptions by Satan's servants at work on earth today. It is about the world's political system ("with the beasts of the earth"), with nation's high leaders and kings having taken over rule and work under the politics of the New World Order hosts that support worship of Lucifer.

5th SIGN:

Mark 13:9-13
9 But take heed to yourselves: for they shall deliver you up to councils; and in the synagogues ye shall be beaten: and ye shall be brought before rulers and kings for My sake, for a testimony against them.
10 And the gospel must first be published among all nations.
11 But when they shall lead you, and deliver you up, take no thought beforehand what ye shall speak, neither do ye premeditate: but whatsoever shall be given you in that hour, that speak ye: for it is not ye that speak, but the Holy Ghost.
12 Now the brother shall betray the brother to death, and the father the son; and children shall rise up against their parents, and shall cause them to be put to death.
13 And ye shall be hated of all men for my name's sake: but he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
KJV

That will happen to some of Christ's elect that are delivered up to give a Testimony or Witness against the one-world beast at the end of this world. Those who remain faithful to Jesus Christ and in His Word will be hated by all the world, and even by deceived loved ones. Lord Jesus says when that delivering up happens, to not think beforehand what you will say, but whatever The Holy Spirit gives you to say in that hour, speak that. This is one of the main reasons for the manifesting of the 'cloven tongue' of Pentecost for the coming "great tribulation" at the end of this world. God is going to speak to the whole world through His servants with that coming event, and everyone in the world will hear in the very dialect of language where they were born. It won't be a gibberish tongue at all.

Fifth Seal:

Rev 6:9-11
9 And when he had opened the fifth seal, I saw under the altar the souls of them that were slain for the word of God, and for the testimony which they held:
10 And they cried with a loud voice, saying, "How long, O Lord, holy and true, dost Thou not judge and avenge our blood on them that dwell on the earth?
11 And white robes were given unto every one of them; and it was said unto them, that they should rest yet for a little season, until their fellowservants also and their brethren, that should be killed as they were, should be fulfilled.
KJV

There is the direct parallel to the Testimony those saints are to be delivered up to do at the end per Lord Jesus' 5th Olivet discourse SIGN.

6th SIGN:

Very important to understand this 6th SIGN Lord Jesus gave in His Olivet discoures is the actual time of "great tribulation" for the END that He warned us about.

Matt 24:15-26
15 When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand.
16 Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.

When the false-Christ shows up in Jerusalem, the deceived orthodox Jews in Jerusalem will wrongly believe him to be the prophesied Messiah of Old Testament Scripture (i.e., Isaiah 7; Deuteronomy 18:15; etc.). Another temple will be built then, and they will start up old covenant sacrifices again in Jerusalem. That is to occur in the first part of Daniel's symbolic final "one week" that represents a period of 7 years. But in the middle of that period, after the first 3 and 1/.2 years, this false Messiah will end those sacrifices in Jerusalem, and instead place that "abomination of desolation" idol inside the temple and demand that all bow in worship to him or to that idol, or be killed. This idol will be the "image of the beast" mentioned at the end of Revelation 13 for the end of this world, and has never happened yet to this day. The days of Nebuchadnezzar, king of Babylon, and Antiochus Epiphanes serve as previous models for this event by the final Antichrist at the end of this world. Like Solomon said, there's no new thing under the sun, what has been shall be again.

Matthew 24:22
22 And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect's sake those days shall be shortened.

The original time period for the great tribulation at the end prophesied in the Book of Daniel was for 1260 days, or three and one half years, i.e., the latter part of the Daniel 9:27 symbolic "one week" of 7 years. But here Lord Jesus shows that He shortened the period for His elect's sake. He showed His faithful what it is shortened to in His Book of Revelation. Do you know it?

Matthew 24:23
23 Then if any man shall say unto you, "Lo, here is Christ, or there"; believe it not.

The context of these 23 thru 26 verses is about a singular Antichrist figure, a false Christ, or false Messiah. The KJV translators brought Greek pseudochristos in the next verse into English as "false Christs", plural, but the actual context of this section is about SINGLE false Christ, not many. And this verse 23 is the first taste of that singular context about a single false Christ. It is pointing to if someone comes up to you and says something like, "Hey, Christ is here! or there!", Jesus said to not believe it.

Matthew 24:24
24 For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.

There's that pseudochristos translation, which the context is really about a single false Christ. The Greek word pseudochristos is actually made up of 2 Greek words, pseudo which means fake or false, and christos which means Christ, singular.

Another very important thing to note in Lord Jesus' warning there, is that this specific false-Christ is to have the power to work those great signs and wonders, that IF IT WERE POSSIBLE, would deceive even Christ's very elect. Question: just how powerful would those miracles have to be in order to almost... deceive Christ chosen elect? Christ's very elect, meaning those 'chosen' and not just 'called', cannot be deceived, because The Holy Spirit guides them in God's Truth and they are able to discern, having the "strong meat" of God's Word in them.

So why would Lord Jesus give that comparison? It is to show how this particular false-Christ is not about the "many antichrists" like those of Matthew 24:5 that only 'claim'... to be Christ. Those have no power of miracles to deceive with. This coming false one is different, and will have the power to work great signs, wonders, and miracles to deceive the whole world with. Like the Revelation 13:4-8 Scripture revealed, those who names written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, i.e., Christ's very elect, cannot be deceived by those miracles at the end of this world.

Matthew 24:25
25 Behold, I have told you before.
26 Wherefore if they shall say unto you, "Behold, He is in the desert"; go not forth: "behold, He is in the secret chambers"; believe it not.
KJV

Just to make sure you understand, Lord Jesus repeats this warning again. If they say He is in the desert, or that He is in the secret chambers (in the temple), do not believe it! This is about THE "antichrist" that those in 1 John 2:18 had already heard shall come. That is NOT the "many antichrists" workers that are here already at work. This false-Christ here has not showed up yet today.

Sixth Seal (first part):

This 6th Seal events are actually divided into two parts. This first part is showing symbols relating to the time of "great tribulation".

Rev 6:12-13
12 And I beheld when he had opened the sixth seal, and, lo, there was a great earthquake; and the sun became black as sackcloth of hair, and the moon became as blood;
13 And the stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs, when she is shaken of a mighty wind.
KJV

We know those symbols of a great earthquake, sun becoming black, and the moon as blood, are all signs of the very end of this world just prior to Christ's future return. In Joel 2:30-31 we are shown those signs happening just prior to Christ's coming on that "day of the Lord".

But what about those "stars of heaven fell unto the earth, even as a fig tree casteth her untimely figs"?

Well, what does a star falling from Heaven represent in God's Word, like in Revelation 9:1? That is symbolic of Satan's original rebellion and fall from Heaven. Not widely understood, the Revelation 12:7-9 Scripture reveals Satan and his angels being kicked out of the Heavenly dimension down to this earth in OUR dimension for the very end of this world. Those Rev.12:7-17 Scriptures are linked to events to occur only at the end of this world, and even shows that old serpent (Satan) will seek to cast deception upon the symbolic woman as 'water as a flood' out of his mouth!

This casting out like "untimely figs" is a symbol also linked to the above casting out idea for the end of this world. An untimely fig, in real fig horticulture, is about the winter fig that grows early in the winter, and falls off in the spring. The good edible sweet fig in the middle east mainly has its season as May through September. So just what symbolic season did Lord Jesus use to point to the Harvest time when the angels gather His Church? Summer. So if you are gathered in... winter, like an untimely fig, what would that mean?

These symbols are given in God's Word for a reason, and we are to use our brains that God gave us to understand them. He didn't give these type of symbols to make His Word harder to understand, but easier to understand. Satan and his angels, when they are cast out of the Heavenly down to this earth in OUR dimension ,for the very end for the "great tribulation" time, they represent 'untimely figs', early figs, because false-Messiah comes early, prior to Lord Jesus' future return. So if you are deceived, and gathered early by that false-Christ that comes first, then that will make you a spiritual harlot, and not as "a chaste virgin" presented to our True Husband Jesus Christ when He comes (see 2 Corinthians 11, and Isaiah 54 for this analogy given by God in His Word.)

7th SIGN:

Matt 24:27-31
27 For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28 For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29 Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 And He shall send His angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together His elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
KJV

When Lord Jesus Christ does return in our near future, it won't be like someone coming up to you and telling you, "Lo, Christ is here", as every eye shall see Him coming in the clouds as written in Revelation 1, even those who pierced Him. That is the meaning of His coming being like lightening shining from out of the east, and unto the west. It represents those on earth covering a very wide area seeing a lightening event in the sky. His coming won't need an announcement. All will see Him coming.

At that same time "Immediately after the tribulation of those days", He will then send His angels to gather His elect Church, those who remain faithful waiting for Him. In this Matthew 24:31 version, it is pointing to the 'asleep' saints that Paul said Jesus will bring with Him when He comes. In the Mark 13:27 version of this, it is pointing to those of us still alive on earth being gathered at this event.

Now you'll run into all sorts of men's traditions and men's doctrines that try to counter all this. But this is what the Scriptures are actually pointing to, that Christ's future coming will be immediately AFTER the great tribulation He mentioned, and only then will Jesus gather His faithful saints.

Sixth Seal (part two):

Rev 6:14-17
14 And the heaven departed as a scroll when it is rolled together; and every mountain and island were moved out of their places.
15 And the kings of the earth, and the great men, and the rich men, and the chief captains, and the mighty men, and every bondman, and every free man, hid themselves in the dens and in the rocks of the mountains;
16 And said to the mountains and rocks, "Fall on us, and hide us from the face of him that sitteth on the throne, and from the wrath of the Lamb:
17 For the great day of his wrath is come; and who shall be able to stand?"
KJV

Those future events when Jesus comes will end this present world. That is why the heaven will then depart as a scroll, and every mountain and island will tremble. That is the "day of the Lord" timing, the very last day of this present world.

That is the day of God's cup of wrath poured out upon the wicked. It represents the day when even they shall see Christ coming in the clouds in glory, and they will wish for the mountains and rocks to fall on them because of their shame.

That is the 7th SIGN Jesus gave in His Olivet discourse, the final SIGN of His future return.

So don't let any man deceive you into thinking all these events Jesus gave in His Olivet discourse were past history. Those folks who believe that are deceived, and not prepared for what is soon to come upon this world by the false-Messiah and his deceptions.

This sounds like Dispensationalism. Are you a Dispensationalist? All of the Reformers identified the Papacy as the Antichrist. Were they wrong? Can you see the Antichrist in your church? Not physically, but in spirit through his false teachings?

I don't believe the world comes to an end when Christ comes. As I understand it the middle east is destroyed and Christ's kingdom is set up in the promised land.
The world isn't destroyed till 1000 years after he comes.

It depends on how one understands the 2 Peter 3:10-13 Scripture. The KJV word "elements" there in the Greek is about the idea of a 'world order', not actual earthly material matter. It is pointing to God cleansing the 'surface' of this earth on that day by His "consuming fire", not a complete destruction as if the earth will no longer exist. All one need do is look at the first part of that 2 Peter 3 chapter with the destruction upon this old earth when God used flood waters. Did that literally destroy this whole earth? No, it cleansed the surface... of this old earth. Same thing will happen on the "day of the Lord" when Lord Jesus returns.

So yeah, most definitely this present world earth age (a worldly time on earth) is going to end on the day of Christ's future return. That is what the Scripture is showing.

This sounds like Dispensationalism. Are you a Dispensationalist? All of the Reformers identified the Papacy as the Antichrist. Were they wrong? Can you see the Antichrist in your church? Not physically, but in spirit through his false teachings?

No, I am NOT a Dispensationalist.

And the Mark 13:24-27 and Matthew 24:29-31 Scripture is showing Christ's coming to gather His elect AFTER... the tribulation.

So how is it you throw out a false idea trying to suggest I'm a Dispensationalist which believe instead in a false Pre-tribulational Rapture theory??

Christ's Olivet discourse reveals His coming to gather His Church is a Post-tribulational coming, and that is what I believe, as written.

Also brethren, note this:

The Reformation era that believe a pope was the Antichrist had nothing to do with men's theory of Dispensationalism and a Pre-trib Rapture theory. Dispensationalism was started by John Darby who first preached a false Pre-trib Rapture theory in 1830's Great Britain.

And the idea of the "spirit of antichrist" per Apostle John is simply about the workers of the devil, i.e. his servants that are already here at work. Those are the "many antichrists" that John pointed to, and the "mystery of iniquity" that Paul pointed to. If you don't understand about those concepts written in God's Word, go back to the Old Testament and study your Bible history like you are supposed to.
