It's tough to say. However, the Bible wants us to put cares on him and not be full of anger and/or self-pity.

Perhaps truth has been replaced with how I feel. If I'm offended by something, it's thus wrong. No need to show it's false, just that my feelings got hurt. Easier. And works in this relativistic world.

It wasn't that long ago that claiming to be deeply offended by every little thing would result in an admonition to not be silly. Now a claim to be deeply offended by something trivial is met by a no-holds-barred insistence that the thing must be removed.

I can only imagine the response even 20 years ago if someone claimed the mere presence of an item on the shelves in a store made them feel unsafe.
