I don't buy new vehicles. I would buy a used, probably a pickup from the 1990s in good condition and with a manual transmission and crank windows. 2000s might work but they started phasing out manual transmissions at some point.

If you had to buy a new vehicle today, what would you get?

Probably a bicycle. Only because technically it's still a vehicle and with the current inflated prices I'm not really interested in buying a new motor vehicle. Maybe one of those battery-assisted bicycles. I know a few local people who have them and they are quite impressive. I've often thought of getting one to use for the really short local trips - cars aren't really designed to be driven half a mile and stopped, driven another half mile and stopped, driven two miles and stopped, then driven two miles home and parked for the rest of the day.
