Do any of you wear a Crucifix necklace or is that mostly a Catholic thing?
I hope you start feeling better.I know some Lutherans who wear a crucifix. I don't have any of them and have a little cross that I sometimes wear. Ever since I had surgery on my neck 4 years ago, I don't feel comfortable wearing necklaces anymore.
Well, I’m in the USA. Would it be weird for me to wear one?I own a few... and I wore such as a child and teen but I no longer wear a cross. My pastor wears one as part of his liturgical attire on Sundays.
In the USA, it is a MOSTLY Catholic thing. But that's an American thing. Crucifixes are fairly common in Lutheran churches.
.
Are you LCMS?Lutheran here and I wear a crucifix. It is mostly a Catholic thing, but there are many Lutherans who wear it too. If Jesus had not died on the cross for our salvation, we would still be waiting for our Savior.
You will see some of our Pastors wearing the crucifix too.

Well yeah, but would people think I’m Catholic or if they know I’m not, wonder “why in the heck is SHE wearing a Cucifix?”It's a free country![]()

Yeah, I do care….why? I don’t know.Do you care if people think you're Catholic? I mean, it shouldn't really matter. My friend is Eastern Orthodox and they wear a crucifix too. It's not just a Catholic thing.
I’m wearing mine now, too.
