Gunfire can damage hearing and quickly. Even at a gun range i would wear both the hearing protector muffs and the ear canal inserts.Gunfire on both sides. From which I have constant ringing in my ears to this day.

At one of the Air Force bases my dad was assigned to, the USAF Thunderbirds came to do an air show. We were near the runway when they took off and the noise was deafening.

People just don't realize how vulnerable their hearing is. If you go to a gun range, or air base, or rock concert, or car race track, take some good ear plugs. You may not use them, but you have them with you if you know you need them. And you know when you need them.
Again, any damage to your hearing, no matter how slight, is irrepairable.

Kids screaming. In countless stores and restaurants, I've worked, where it's been quiet and all of a sudden, out of the blue, a toddler or baby does the highest pitch scream or cry ever that is continuous. I can't stand noisy places with my Autism.What was the loudest noise you’ve ever heard?
