I feel like I'm at the end of my rope in an abusive relationship. I do everything I can to protect my child from my soon-to-be exes outbursts, but I'm terrified that he'll snap and injure her like he does me. I feel SO trapped. I can't even leave the house other than to step out back and hang laundry or play with my daughter. Even IMPLYING I want to go out sets him off. These aren't small rages, either. Busted mirrors, drywall, dishes, appliances. He smashed the front of the microwave last night in a rage, because it belonged to me. Dressers torn apart, clothes thrown out, and that's just what he does to things around the house. I've been bruised, shoved, screamed at, and literally trapped in this house with my child. I've been jumped for trying to call the police. I've called when nothing is happening and naturally, nothing is done. I get a little peace when he works nights, but it's short lived. He doesn't work full-time, so it's only a night or two of peace at a time. I just need safety, for my child if nothing else. Please pray for us, so that we can escape this situation we're trapped in. I don't know when I'll be able to check back here, but I'll try. Just pray for us, please. Pray hard.

I would immediately take my child to go stay with family while he's away at work and let him know you won't be returning until he goes through major counseling, etc...and even then it would be questionable. You are the parent too of your child, don't let her view abuse as being acceptable. She's scared too.

Prayers for you and your family. I'm even praying your husband ceases his abusive ways.

You need to check up on your state laws concerning a restraining order. And then leave and get one. Is the abuser the father of your daughter? Does the abuser drink? Since you are apparently getting a divorce this might all come into play.

You can escape your situation. But, you have to do it. Have a place ready to go to. Plan on a time when you know the abuser will be gone for a while. Then leave. Don't tell your daughter about it till it's time to go. Have as few people know about it as possible. But, you do need to make sure all is done in accordance with the law as you don't want to affect your divorce.

And before you leave I would make sure the local authorities knew where you and your daughter would be. Who knows, the abuser may call in a kidnapping charge against you once he finds out you left, especially if he is the father of your daughter. But if the local law enforcement already know what's going on, and know where yall are, I don't believe it would be a problem.

Also, if your situation is as dire as you make it out to be, you need to think about a weapon for self-defense in case the abuser does come completly unhinged. If you have a gun, well and good. But make sure you are aware of other weapons that can be used in your house in case you can't get to your gun. Your kitchen is full of knives. Know where your hammers are located. And a baseball bat. etc. etc.

That is my opinion.

I certainly will be praying for yall. Plan on leaving, and when the window of opportunity comes....don't talk yourself out of it.
