What types of character do you find in most of your friends? Is there a common trend or do you have a variety of different friends?

I have thought about this before, and most of my friends have strong personalities. Not so much my online friends, but my friends out there in what I call, real life. I'm not sure why this is. I think I appreciate honesty...and my friends have that.

My friends are varied in personality, but the key things they have in common is acceptance and loyalty and honesty. Most are christians, if not all. And part of me thinks that's a bit un-Christ-like, like I'm insulating myself or something.

Not really, that is where you spend a lot of time, these are the people who you have something in common, and we are to be in the world but not be part of it

My friends are generally well-educated, intelligent, and have integrity. More than that, though, is that they are "real" down to earth, non-judgemental, have a godly sense of humility and genuine faith. I have two "professional" friends who are not believers, and I have one general friend who is incredibly negative and emotionally needy. I think I have pretty terrific friends and they are all wonderful examples to me of Jesus' character - they build up the body and do not tear down.

My friends in life are

Loyal.
Honest - they won't cheat me either materially or otherwise with flowery bullstuff in important issues.
Available to help me out as I am to help them out.
Non-dependent and mostly self sufficient. Our friendship is based on the above and on enjoyment of each others company, not on underlying self serving motives.

The circle of friends my wife and i associate with are "wayyyy"varied. From vast denominational differences to outright non christian.
So thier characters are just as varied.though for the most part they are what the world may term "socially acceptable" in that they are not criminally inclined.in terms of Godly character ,give me an honest sinner over a religious pretense any day.

I live in multiple universes..... And these tend not to overlap.

I have an artsy side of me. I like theatre, film, dance, books. And I have friends related to that (a suprising number are "gay")

I'm into sports (doing, not watching) and I go to the fitness center almost daily. I have friends from that.

I'm a scientist and a science NERD (big, big time). And I have my friends from that

I'm a Christian, very active in my (very small) church. A theology junkie. And I have my friends from that (including some "internet" friends, like you, lol)

I'm a part of two families now. Both live fairly near-by. And I'm very family oriented. So there's friends there.

And then there's all my wife's friends that are now my friends. A whole new universe has opened up for me.... some great people.

I even have a couple of childhood friends that are still special to me. One now lives in Spain where he's involved in the family car selling business.... we grew up together (when he lived in California), we have a very special relationship. Another and I became friends through swimming, surfing and Boy Scouts. We have remained close. He's married and with kids and was my best man at my wedding. We get together fairly often for BBQ's, crazy board or card games, and just enjoying each other.

Newly married, it's important to me to embrace OUR friends. Working on that.

Most of my friends are loudmouthed know it alls! I'm just joking. My friends are outgoing and trustworthy but there are some that are not reliable when it comes to showing up on time to restaurants or events but that's okay I love them anyway.

Most all of my friends exude the character of Christ, all while running the gamut of personality types.

This is an old bumped up thread LOL

I have a lot of friends but I only select a few for my inner circle and from those I choose characters that I consider valuable: honesty, reliability, trustworthiness. I know that people are sinful and will fail and I'm extremely forgiving as my friends all know. I do set boundaries though.

I think the only trait shared by all of my friends is a pulse.
