Why do you think God allowed the holocaust to happen?

How is that related to the holocaust?
Revelation speaks of physical death, suffering, but also inner peace through Jesus Christ.

If we see nothing but external discord in the Holocaust ( with no inner peace ) then we should try and look for the peace that comes from physical Christian martyr type death and avoid just the external only.

One of the churches in Revelation had some suffering to death predicted.

This is all Jewish writing. Jews who were under a new covenant. Born again Jewish persons. The Bible mentions gentile inclusion but the Gentiles are strangely very much silent as authors. It really takes an included (?) gentile to even make reasonable statements. The benefits of Gentiles comes from being grafted in, or either eddif does not know how to read and understand Romans. Jewish Christians of the Bible explain just about everything.

That's an amish electrician's meltdown.
Unless the Amish understands a concept, and tells his Mennonite near kin the meanings, so the the Mennonite can post it on the internet.

Then the gentile electrician can read the original mystical speech translated into his own language.

As an electrical / mechanic knowledge, wisdom, understanding, and love may seem like strange words.
Knowledge - what is wrong with the device
Wisdom - what needs to be done to fix the problem.
Understanding - how much force / heat to use to keep from destroying more than you fix.
Love - how to not cuss and throw wrenches / torches during the repair. ( avoid meltdown ).

We often need everyone to work through our understanding.

LOL

Today's Jews as a whole reject the Savior so they certainly can't explain everything, can they? It takes the Holy Spirit who uses the Word to give us faith by His grace so that we can believe. That's true for everyone, Jew, Gentile, whatever.

I agree in most parts.
I would say:
Today’s Jews as a majority reject Jesus as the savior.

The Holy Spirit was given that we might have power to be witnesses.

Why don’t you actually explain what you mean instead of just using some cryptic idiom that we’re not familiar with?

...

The purpose of a forum like this is to encourage conversation. But throwing out cryptic language with no explanation is not encouraging conversation. It’s discouraging it.

After your thread about being able to buy an escape from hell this is a bit rich. Given your track record of posting a thread suggesting one thing only to pull a bait-and-switch later you surely can't be surprised that people wonder whether this is going to be another similar thread. When you're pulling things out of Scripture without any indication of how, or indeed whether, they are relevant to the topic it really doesn't help.

I have to say that even trying to give you the benefit of the doubt and assuming you aren't a troll is proving difficult at times.

How is it a cowbird’s egg? What does that even mean?

It’s kind of like when Paul told people that if they’re going to speak in tongues in public, then there needs to be an interpretation, otherwise you’re just a resounding gong or a clanging cymbal.

“So it is with you. Unless you speak intelligible words with your tongue, how will anyone know what you are saying? You will just be speaking into the air.”
-1 Corinthians 14:9

“But in the church I would rather speak five intelligible words to instruct others than ten thousand words in a tongue.”
-1 Corinthians 14:19

“If there is no interpreter, the speaker should keep quiet in the church and speak to himself and to God.”
-1 Corinthians 14:28

In the same way, I’d rather speak 5 intelligible words on this forum than a thousand cryptic idioms that nobody here understands. If you’re going to call something a cowbird’s egg (some idiom we’ve never heard of) then you need to give an interpretation as to what you mean by it.

But if you’re not going to give an interpretation, then it would be better for you to just keep quiet and not even post anything at all. Otherwise you’re just throwing unintelligible words out into the air, like a clanging symbol, and not actually edifying any of the readers who are on the forum. Nor are you giving anyone an opportunity to respond to your point -whatever point you’re making, that is.

What is a cowbird’s egg? Explain yourself.

I posted a scripture verse from Revelation, and you called it a cowbird’s egg. Why? What does that mean?

Someone else quoted Revelation and you said that too is a cowbird’s egg. How so? In what way?

Revelation says not to add or subject from scripture. Deuteronomy also says not to add or subtract from scripture. Proverbs also has a similar warning. Is it OK to quote one scripture but not the other? Is something in these scriptures out of place?

Care to explain?
Our moderator has a pretty good grip on the issue of lack of explanations.
explanations.

I Corinthians 12 was written to Gentiles, but for the most part it is a lesson on what the OT prophets practiced. All their supernatural actions.
I think Gentiles claim the chapter as theirs, and the Jews kind of ignore it because it is written to Gentiles.
But
I Corinthians 12:12 kjv
12. For as the body is one, and hath many members, and all the members of that one body, being many, are one body: so also isChrist.
13. For by one Spirit are we all baptized into one body, whether we be Jews or Gentiles, whether we be bond or free; and have been all made to drink into one Spirit.

So Nathan
I agree that a particular saying is not alway understood outside its group, and prayers should be offered up to interpret it for the group that does not understand. If someone does understand (interprets), let them speak / post.

Jesus hid truth in parables. We may still use hidden language, but we get to present the meaning in open discussions (IMHO). The two women are two covenants.

He can put you in a strange place.

He does know a good bit of scripture and how to apply it, but he often never really gets where he can help. This is one of the times he actually is making a good point.

... except that none of this is actually true. The Revelation says not to add or subtract from the Revelation. When it was written it wasn't part of what we currently call the Bible. Likewise when Deuteronomy was written much of the rest of what we now call Scripture hadn't been written. When Proverbs was written the NT didn't exist, and so on.

Quoting Scripture requires context. Otherwise we could pull all sorts of random things out of context and draw a conclusion that the text doesn't support.

Take a look at Job 22:28, ignore the surrounding verses, and figure what the verse in isolation might be telling us. Then look at the context and see how different it looks.

Ah! Ok.
So Revelation is saying not to change Revelation.
Deuteronomy is saying not to change Deuteronomy.

But it’s perfectly acceptable to add and subtract from other books of holy scripture, like Genesis.

Gotcha!
It all makes perfect sense now!

That was such a soft egg.

Wow.... drawing conclusions that aren't there and then wondering why people don't engage with you. Good job.

Oh, so now it IS wrong to add and subtract from other books.

I hope we get it together.
Romans 3:1 kjv
1. What advantage then hath the Jew? or what profit is there of circumcision?
2. Much every way: chiefly, because that unto them were committed the oracles of God.
3. For what if some did not believe? shall their unbelief make the faith of God without effect?
4. God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar; as it is written, That thou mightest be justified in thy sayings, and mightest overcome when thou art judged.

What I do is quote scripture. Paul said these words. He also says they are stubborn and he is going to the Gentiles because they will listen.

Paul does both:
States advantages
And
Readthem the riot act.
I eventually do the same thing, just maybe not in the same post.

I am new here and regretfully do not know everyone yet. I may run into false brothers and be deceived for a time, but hopefully will not turn out to have heretic thoughts.
I am glad I wound up here, and not on the other Lutheran heretic site (can I say that?). They accept things I could never accept. Of course if I get arrogant I may get sent there. Peter was not going to the Gentiles. Jonah was not going to the Gentiles. I hope I wind up where I need to be. If my stubborn streak is need there, I will go.

This isn't a Lutheran site. Not even sure why you insinuated that.

What you wrote doesn't even relate to what I called you out on. If you're going to refer to the Jews/Gentiles from the past then use that tense. The tense you used present tense...meaning that you are referring to the people of today, not the historical people. If you are trying to say that God sent you here to us Gentiles then I have to inform you that with very few exceptions, our members are Christian so God already got to us first.

You can look at me (eddif) as the problem if you like. I am for you and not against you.

This thread has a huge amount of un-natural conversation going on outside of just eddif. The Cowbird’s egg is totally un-natural in nature.

I do admit to making little effort to watch tense. Problems in the past sometimes still exist in the present. If I make a mistake (sin) point it out.

Does this website have a historic origin of previous affiliation? I just originally thought it was open. If I jumped to the wrong conclusion I am very sorry. I just started looking for a hint as to affiliation when I was questioned on so much of what I said. I tried to move our conversation to a more private area, but that failed. I looked around the website information and came to the conclusion I did.

To answer your question, the Statement of Faith (we have no denominational affiliation) has always been The Nicene Creed is the basis for the Statement of Faith of Christianity Haven. Members who disagree with the Trinity as described in the Creeds should not post in the Christian Only portions of the site.

Well, there you have it folks … the answer we have all been looking for.
“Why did God allow the Holocaust?”

… as has been demonstrated in this topic … like they say in Texas … “Some people just need killing.”

:ROFLMAO:

[think about it before you correct me … it is a double entendre]
