Do you think Mt. Sinai is in the Sinai Peninsula or in Saudi Arabia?

I'm not sure geography and history are affected by my opinions.

God has placed information in the Holy Scriptures for a purpose.

For everything that was written in the past was written to teach us, so that through endurance and the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.” (Romans 15:4 NIV – emphasis mine)

I suggest that it is therefore inappropriate to dismiss the location of Mt. Sinai (if God has actually told us where it is) as being unimportant.

It is further suggested that a detailed investigation of the situation of, and the detail of, the Exodus (including the revealed detail of the route taken, reviewed in conjunction with the topography of the area) locates Mt. Sinai with absolute precision. (One could throw in some interesting archaeology for good measure.)

Unfortunately, the vast majority of “Bible studies” that I have been exposed to in various settings over the years, have been notably superficial, despite the voluminous treatises published by some theologians supporting the questionable conclusions reached in such studies.

What if a proper study of the Bible, sweeping aside the superficiality we are often exposed to and encouraged to accept, would resolve with crystal clarity, issues normally considered troubling and irresolvable?

I encourage Readers to review the revealed details of the Exodus, up to and including the time and activities pertaining to Mt. Sinai.

I will be happy to give clues in response to questions indicating that the requester has honestly looked at the Scriptures and honestly wants to know more.

Who knows? The upshot of all this could be that my understanding of Mt. Sinai’s location (whatever that is) is proven to be wrong, based on people’s in-depth investigation of the relevant Scripture passages. If so, I’ll own up.
