Why didn’t Noah’s flood kill all the freshwater fish?

I get too long winded in a hurry.
The earth has continents to cover, and the larger a globe gets the more volume is contained in each given foot / meter. I presume (dangerous word) most added water is fresh water (atmospheric anyway). By the time the mountains were covered the majority of total surface water was probably fresh water.
So
Maybe the mix could support both fresh and salty fish.

And on the day of Pentacost each different person heard in his on language. So
Maybe some surface areas were less saline for the fresh water fish. I was not there but Jew and Gentile exist in the same water today LOL.

The sea's saltiness isn't static; it's increasing all the time, and always has. Which
means that if we were to go back in time, the sea was a lot less salty in Noah's day
than it is today; ergo: aquatic life's adjustment to dilution back in his day wouldn't
have been as extreme as aquatic life's adjustment would be in our day.

Things changed after the flood. We don't really know what the waters were before the flood or what the fish were accustomed to before the flood mush less how they adapted to the differences in water since that time. How do we know things changed? Well, Noah lived to be 900 years old. His sons were only 600 years old and life expectancy continued to drop. Something had to change to cause these things to change. We talked about this in a Bible study recently. We just don't what things were like before the flood as we are post flood now.

If God wanted the fish to live in outer space then I’m sure they would be just fine. A little salt just made them taste a bit better for Noah and crew.

Salt water is denser than fresh water, so it is POSSIBLE for a layer of fresh water flood to float above the salt water of the oceans until the wave actions eventually mixed the two over time.

Of course this is just one of many possibilities.

There are quite a few biological factors along with physics.
The Amazon river of fresh water extends 100 or so miles into the Atlantic ocean.
There are also many accounts of fish species able to endure beyond brackish waters.
One is the bull shark that swims inland into fresh water rivers.
Another example is the transitional lifespan of salmon.
You make an excellent point about buoyancy pollard.
The oceans salinity is not consistent.
What kills fish is the shocking measure scale between acidic and alkaline ph scale.
Like putting salt on a slugg or snail smaller fish cannot handle the degree of change in the waters ph.

There would've likely been a loss of fish during the flood.
But many fresh and saltwater species would've survived and provided schools to provide for future generations due to the time allotted and the physics of fluid saturation.

Excellent evaluation.
The oceans are similar to storms in the sky.
Density of salinity in the ocean would look like clouds on radar.
Sonar reveals many currents that reflect atmospheric activities.

Hence "no more sea"
