Is your church doing anything for Holy Week? Will they be having live services?

My church (Lutheran) will have both in person and virtual Holy Week services, which is a real blessing. I am looking forward to the week, I have always found it to be profound and really a highlight of the Church calendar.

I just received the email yesterday that my church is doing in person Holy Week services. I still haven't attended yet in person but it's possible that after Easter I'll start since the majority of the congregation will have been vaccinated.

Yup. Maundy Thursday (with the Sacrament), Good Friday (a very traditional service around the Seven Last Words of Christ) and Easter.

They will be streamed and also "real" - in person, inside. But spread out, with masks. No Easter Brunch or Egg Hunt this year.

Our services will be in person. Starting with Palm Sunday, then we move into Maundy Thursday with Holy Communion. Good Friday services and then the Resurrection on Easter. This year we get to celebrate Easter with our brothers and sisters in Christ. Hallelujah!

In California, the Governor has still limited us to 25% capacity OR 100 persons, whichever is greater. But it's POSSIBLE by Easter, our County will be in a lower level and we'll be at 50% capacity or 100 max. Truth is (right or wrong) a lot of churches are totally blowing off the Governor and just worshiping indoors. My church, however, is abiding by the governor's restrictions.

Maundy Thursday will be a live service which will also be streamed. Good Friday we’re having music, prayer and reflection in streamed services shown online every hour from noon to 7:00 and Easter we‘re having an early live service, and three later services which will be both live and streamed.
And like Josiah mentioned, we’ll be wearing masks.

My church has been doing live services for a while, maybe since last July or August. Social distancing and masks are required for everyone, and no kneeling at the altar rail for communion.

We here in Texas have had live services since June with some restrictions. A month ago, all government mandated restrictions were lifted. We can go back to as things were before all these restrictions. Since we didn't have in person Easter services last year, it is going to be great to have them back this year.

Likewise, last year was all virtual, and it is just not the same.

It really isn’t the same. For me there are too many distractions and I just can’t pay attention as well as in person worship.

I hate to see churches ignoring the restrictions and just doing whatever they want. Before I became Lutheran I was trying to decide between my now Lutheran church or a ND one. The ND one didn’t care about restrictions and the head pastor even mocked those who chose to wear masks.
it really turned me off, knowing that they weren’t putting the safety of their congregation first.
A friend who has been going there for years is so mad about it that it’s possible she‘ll not return.
As far as I know, the only thing they did do was switch one of the service day/ times around. They had a Saturday evening service and moved it to Thursday evening.

We're doing in person Divine Service from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday, with appropriate restrictions. I live in Virginia, which is now a Democratic  state and so every restriction is fully enforced by Governor Northam.
