There has been a lot on the news in the last 24 hours about the vaccine shots going out and the first people getting them. Are you hesitant at all to get the shot or are you going to try and get it as soon as you can?
I'm in a high risk groups, so I think I will try and get it as soon as I can.

I haven't been keeping up with covid news lately... is it going to be mandatory?

Do they even know if it's safe for everyone?

I won't be getting it until it's had chance to shake out any long term side effects. Based on my age and overall health I believe my survival probability if I get the virus is something like 99.97% so I don't feel any real need to have the vaccine.

I'm not expecting long term side effects but the simple reality is the vaccine hasn't been around long enough to know with any certainty.

The Pfizer vaccine has already been tested on 42,000 volunteers over the past several months and has been found effective and free of any serious short term side effects. The incidence of long term effects will take years to determine. Canada is actually setting up just such a long term study including other vaccines. In all I am quite satisfied as to its safety and will certainly take it when it is available.

If I recall very few of the volunteer subjects were under 18, although it has been approved for anyone over 16. One of the officials on the board to approve it who voted against its approval apparently said she would have wholeheartedly voted to approve it for adults but didn't consider the data to be adequate to determine safety for those aged 16-18.

In practise it's hard to see that those two years would make a lot of difference, but then at the same time I'm sure nobody saw the Thalidomide disaster looming when they were testing it.

Most likely will wait a bit to find out about safety, efficacy, etc. I'll keep taking reasonable precautions in the meantime

I'm not in one of the groups that will receive it first so I get to wait and see what other reactions happen to it. I have 15 things in my Allergy list and when they announced that people with allergies could have a problem it made me a little hesitant. I think by February or March I'll know whether it's something that will work for me and not kill me.

As with any vaccine, I don't rush out and get it right away and this one will be no different. There are too many unknowns when giving it to the general population. Then I read that the British is not recommending it for those with severe allergies. Since I have such things, I am definitely not getting it at this time.

Who has gotten the vaccine so far and how did you feel after the first and second shots?

From what I gather talking to people who have had it, the second shot is worse.

Received my first vaccination about two and a half hours ago, no problems. Second vaccination in 30 days.

Had my first one (Pfizer) 3 weeks ago. Over here we are getting them 12 weeks apart.
Slightly sore around where the injection was for about a day. Otherwise no problem.

I have been warning people since early 2020 that this whole thing was a scam, with lots of proof to back that up.

However, most people are sheep - not of God or Christ, but of perceived human authority. Addicted to their televisions and corporate programming.

Anyone trying to stick me with a needle will be regretting it.

A friend posted her vaccination card on Faceache. I was intrigued to notice one of the ingredients in the vaccine was potassium chloride. That's what they use in lethal injections to stop the heart. I'm sure they use a lot less of it in the vaccine but I had to wonder why they needed it at all.

Not that it makes much difference to me, I don't plan on taking the vaccine unless there's something I absolutely need to do that's conditional on having it.

Potassium chloride is also used as a stabilizer or thickener.

I'd have thought they would choose a different option, given how excess potassium can cause a myocardial infarction.

what proof are you referring to?
There is almost have a million Americans dead from this. I would hardly call that a scam. My wife is an emergency room nurse. She sees it everyday.
