I have always found the similarities between Genesis and Revelation to be extremely complimentary of one another.
If you read the events from Revelation starting backwards from the last chapter to the first it appears to mirror Genesis from the creation up to the flood of Noah, at least it does for me.
The double edged sword in Revelation and the flaming sword in Genesis both involve an angel who is in charge of guarding access to the tree of life, they are the same cherubim, the same messenger of God, in this case it's not just a mere reflection but THE way, and it all points to Him, Christ Jesus, the alpha and the omega, the author and finisher of our faith!

Here are the rough outlines I drafted in my notepad app, I use the word "mirror" for lack of a better word but it basically implies a reflection in that "the doing" in Genesis becomes the "undoing" in Revelation when read backwards (like how a mirror reflects light both forward and backwards to create a true image of oneself)

Here it goes

----------------------

Creation: man is eternal and right with God in paradise
(Gen: God creates Heaven and Earth, Rev: God creates a new Heaven and Earth)

the serpent emerges from the heart of the earth to attack the women and all of mankind
(Gen: The serpent tempts eve from the midst/center of the earth, Rev: The serpent aka dragon attempts to devour the mother with child after being loosed from the pit of the earth)

The serpent is punished
(Gen: to crawl on its belly, Rev: to be chained up)

Man serves God daily (Gen: outside of paradise Adam and his family serve God daily with God, Rev: 1000 year reign with the Lord in his Earthly kingdom)

Abel is martyred by his brother Cain
(Gen: Abel crys out from the grave and Cain is "Marked", Rev: The martyrs slain cry out for Gods judgment on the earth, those who receive the "mark" are of the beast/murderous and wicked)

The world has become increasingly more and more violent
(Gen: Generation of Noah, Rev: The devil/serpent reigns over the earth 1000 years)

A call for repentance is preached throughout the world with a warning of coming judgment

(Gen: shelter and peace is given to Noah and his family whom God who has not forgotten, God "knows" him, instructions are given to assemble the ark. Noah means "rest" and provides comfort as he and his family are saved, being raised above the destructive flood waters, Rev: Jesus (who is also rest/ walked on water) instructs John to assemble letters for seven churches to keep the faith and endure to the end when they are "caught up in the air away from the judgment that befalls the world)

Any thoughts on this? Would love to hear them :)

Have you ever considered the mirror as a parallel to, " fire by night and cloud by day".
