Exodus 19:6 And ye shall be unto me a kingdom of priests, and an holy nation. These are the words which thou shalt speak unto the children of Israel.

This was spoken to the children of Israel.

1 Peter 2:9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light:

Was Peter talking to the church today, the body of Christ?

Was Peter saying the church today is a holy nation?

Was Peter saying the church today is a priesthood?

Peter was talking to the children of Israel as read in Exodus 19:6.

Good day, Doug

I do love when a NT writers gives the infallible commentary and application of OT passages.

You may wish to pick up DA Carson's work (tome) NT usage of OT passages as one of top NT Greek exegetes you will find it useful...

No he was addressing believers:

2:6 So the honor is for you who believe,

the pronoun here (you) refers to believers: 2:9 But you are a chosen race.

As a believer under the NC he would be addressing me in application... directly yes.

In Him,

Bill
