Packages of seeds are showing up at homes across the US from China containing seeds and police think it has to do with "brushing" where items are ordered and sent off to random addresses so that people can post fake reviews online.

Do you think that the Post Office should charge extra for incoming packages from China to curb this behavior?

Who would the Post Office charge? If they impose a universal increase in anything coming from China that might help curb this sort of thing but it would also make it more expensive to get anything else from China. That might not be a bad thing in and of itself, but a lot of the time people buy things from China because you can't get anything comparable locally (meaning from any US supplier) or you can't get it at a sensible price.

If you want to post a fake review you might as well have an item sent to an address where you can use it. It seems odd to send random seeds to random people so you can write a fake review about seeds.

I wonder too, what are these seeds? I sure would not plant them!

I wouldn't plant seeds that showed up from a random source, unannounced. My concern wouldn't be so much that someone might be writing a fake review, I'd be concerned what they might grow into. The last thing you'd want is to find you'd planted marijuana plants, opium poppies or some such and ended up getting an unexpected vacation at Club Fed. Equally you wouldn't want to find you'd been the one who planted the seeds that triggered a huge outbreak of an invasive species.

Seriously, INVASIVE plants, insects and critters is a REAL problem! Around here, we have a river where the entire ecology has been destroyed by an invasive plant from China that just CANNOT be killed and not only is spreading but is clogging the river, changing the flood aspects of it, endangering homes with flooding, AND it's a huge fire risk (evidently really burns). All over the USA there are examples of insects, animals, etc. that are destroying our ecology and endangering agriculture, homes, etc. In one of my trips to Hawaii, I heard a park ranger go on and on and on about how Hawaii's plants and animals have been largely destroyed by invasive plants and animals.

I HOPE people who get these not only don't plant them but don't put them into the landfill either. Burn them to a crisp!
