What sort of activities do you do when a group of family comes to visit you for a few days? If restaurants still aren't open inside and museums are still closed then what?

Around here, guests often want to go to Disneyland, The San Diego Zoo, Lagoland, Sea World, the Midway, maybe the 4 Spanish Missions around here, the Gas Lamp in San Diego, Balboa Park and its museums, maybe watch the Padres or Angels play ball.... or maybe just hang at the beach. But a lot of those are closed right now.

I'll tell the family: "Stay away...... for now." Unless they want to come for a few HOURS of conversation and a BBQ.... then go home. Which is often the best arrangement anyway.

If everything is closed the best bet is not to come and visit for a few days, or expect to spend a lot of time doing things like walking and reading.

Even if restaurants are open you can only spend so much time in the restaurant.

I've already suggested they wait until the fall but they won't budge. They live in an area that's practically completely open so they don't know what's going on where I live. It will be an eye opener.

Not sure why you can't tell them not to visit at all because of shutdowns - it is your house, right?

EIther that or tell them to bring reading material because there's nothing much to do yet.

Well my mom died in February and it's hard that we haven't been able to get together since then for any visits so it's important.

Since it's your house surely you can specifically say things need to wait until you can actually do something rather than being told when you're going to be hosting visitors?

I've got family members I haven't seen in over two years but I don't get to just turn up at their house at a time that doesn't suit them.

once a year my in laws rent a cabin somewhere and most of us go. There is usually no television and it is in a remote area or on the beach. We usually bring some board games and play them in the evening
