So why have a 1000 years, with just the saints in heaven, what are they doing. The Bible clearly shows that all of our actions are written before the Lord, and that they are brought forth and used in the day of judgment. The book of life and others are there, and now the saints come and look at what they hold. The facts which are brought up in the judgment before God, are not for the use of God alone. The saints in heaven and even the angels must see and know that God's judgments are just. He does not choose to rule arbitrarily, but to have the saints and angels see that He is true, even in judgment. So the books with the record of the lives of men must be laid open to the view of all. The deceit of the heart, secret sinful acts, unknown to all but God and His recording angels, will be revealed. The saints will have a 1000 years to go over the books and will see that their friends who are lost are justly condemned as well as the fallen angels.
1 Corinthians 6:2-3 King James Version (KJV)
2 Do ye not know that the saints shall judge the world? and if the world shall be judged by you, are ye unworthy to judge the smallest matters?
3 Know ye not that we shall judge angels? how much more things that pertain to this life?
Everything is recorded...
Malachi 3:16 King James Version (KJV)
16 Then they that feared the Lord spake often one to another: and the Lord hearkened, and heard it, and a book of remembrance was written before him for them that feared the Lord, and that thought upon his name.
All our actions and words are kept in remembrance; they are written in books by angels. Moses asked to be taken out of the book, which we see was the book of life, if the people could not be forgiven...
Exodus 32:30-32 King James Version (KJV)
30 And it came to pass on the morrow, that Moses said unto the people, Ye have sinned a great sin: and now I will go up unto the Lord; peradventure I shall make an atonement for your sin.
31 And Moses returned unto the Lord, and said, Oh, this people have sinned a great sin, and have made them gods of gold.
32 Yet now, if thou wilt forgive their sin--; and if not, blot me, I pray thee, out of thy book which thou hast written.
Revelation 3:5 King James Version (KJV)
He that overcometh, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I will not blot out his name out of the book of life, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
Revelation 20:12-15 King James Version (KJV)
12 And I saw the dead, small and great, stand before God; and the books were opened: and another book was opened, which is the book of life: and the dead were judged out of those things which were written in the books, according to their works.
13 And the sea gave up the dead which were in it; and death and hell delivered up the dead which were in them: and they were judged every man according to their works.
14 And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death.
15 And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.
