Seeing how people got trapped aboard a cruise ship due to the Coronavirus it's changed peoples' opinions about scheduling a cruise for their vacations.

Have you ever gone on a cruise? If not, would you? If so, did you have good experiences or bad ones?

I've been on tons of cruises for one reason or another. In general I like them a lot. I've had some great times and not so much at other times. But I wouldn't want to get quarantined on one. For me it depends a lot on the ship and the cruise line. However, it's been several years since I've been on a cruise ship and the last one seemed to have lost a lot of what I liked.

I've been on a 3 hour cruise that felt like 6 hours LOL

I've also been on a Carnival cruise with a group of friends and our spouses and it was a great time. It was a 5 day cruise I think? Maybe 4? I wouldn't have wanted a longer one and even though I loved seeing a whale out in the distance it was terrifying to see at the same time and there was a hurricane that the ship had to avoid so we went to a different destination than planned.

The food was good and even though we didn't get sick some of our friends had some strange sinus/respiratory thing.

No, I've never been on a cruise and right now, I'm quite content to stay at home.

My wife and I did a two-week cruise as a special anniversary trip. That was amazing, although horribly expensive. Years later we took another cruise, much more luxurious (and cheaper, since it wasn't to such an expensive destination) - that one was as much about getting to the destination as anything else, albeit doing it in style.

I've been on two cruises. Yes, it's crowded.... like being anywhere popular... think sporting venue, theme park, county fair, anywhere where lots of people are close together. Difference: the two ships I was on were incredibly CLEAN, there were MANY people doing nothing but cleaning and sanitizing... and of course, much of the time on a ship you aren't in a crowded situation. And unlike an airplane, you can just open the window and air is not recirculated.

I love cruses. At least the ones that are in port everyday, all day (sailing only at night). Being out at sea is kinda boring but hey if you are sleeping most of the time when the ship is out at sea, who cares?

The cruises I went on didn't feel crowded at all. I can imagine that at other times of the year they would be very crowded but I didn't have any trouble at all with the number of people. One cruise was in October, the other in January. I can imagine June would have been a different story.

There's not much to look at when you're out at sea with no land visible in any direction but it's still surprisingly relaxing to just sit on the deck and watch the waves. Especially when you've got space to sit on the deck without battling for a spot to call your own.

I agree....

I'm an early riser, often before sunrise, and I ABSOLUTELY loved sitting out on the balony of our cabin with my coffee (the steward brought it to my door every morning) and watch as the ship approached the port and came into dock, it seems always just after sunrise.

BTW, one of my fondest holiday memories is when my beloved and I had a condo right on the beach on the Big Island of Hawaii.... again, my early rising.... I'd go get a Starbucks and sit on the shore and watch the sun rise over Haleakala over on Maui..... amazing..... so peaceful..... the sun coming up would first reveal the very top of the mountain (about 10,000 feet) and slowly work it's way down, revealing more and more of the mountain... until it finally reached the ocean and sunrise where I was. Quite the site (and proof the world IS round!)... there all my myself on the beach.... coffee in hand.... But yeah, sitting on the balcony of our cabin and watching coming into port was pretty close.

No, I haven't ever gone and would only go if someone else paid for it or if I won it as a prize or something.
