Hebrews 12:2 What was the "joy" that was set before our LORD to endure the cross ?

" Looking unto JESUS the AUTHOR and FINISHER of our faith; WHO for the joy that was set before HIM endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of GOD. " Hebrews 12:2

The "joy" that was set before our LORD was us, HIS children, those truly born again by the SPIRIT and the WORD. Since HE was crucified before the foundation of the world; it also stands to reason that HE could see HIS children sitting at HIS feet in Heaven. This "joy" carried HIM through the most agonizing time on the cross - when the FATHER laid all our sin on HIS SON and then turned away. We will not know, on this side of Heaven, what that was like for HIM - but someday we will know as we are known.
Your servant in CHRIST,
Julie

Amen. What a Joy awaits us along with our Savior!

I have come to see the "Joy" as the Inheritance of Creation. First to Jesus from the Father, and then to those who will become "One with Him as He is One with the Father."
There is no greater gift than this! :ange06:
