We had a blackout tonight. My 2 little birds sat real quietly while I put my lanterns with LED lights on. They didn't make a peep or move at all which is amazing. With some other birds I had when there was a blackout they started flying around into the walls and screeching real loud. It only lasted about an hour. It really funny how quiet it gets when there is a power outage.

Just spent the evening playing Tetris in the back of the car. There's enough space, but only if everything gets put in the right place, in the right order. If anything is missing it doesn't work, and if some things get placed in the wrong sequence the rest won't go in.

It took me several goes and much sweat but finally it all went in. There's even space for the cooler to go in tomorrow morning. Early start tomorrow, don't expect to see me here until Sunday!

I'm glad your avian babies were calm. I always really appreciate electricity after an outage.

yes, I take electricity for granted. I kept calm like my birds and it didn't last very long. I wasn't expecting it to be long unless I would get the news that the whole eastern seaboard is out like it happened once. Thankfully, I'm recharged. I thought my computer got damaged because the electricity went on and off 3 times in a row before it went out for an hour. I have a pretty good power strip plus the computer stays off after the first wave of the outage.

Yeah, I have a good surge protector on mine too, but I always power down and unplug it if lightning begins to strike. But sometimes surges and outages just come from nowhere, so it's good to have that extra protection.

Have you ever entered a dark room during an outage and flicked the switch because it's dark in there? I sure have, and I feel silly when I do it too.
