i don't believe them. This is a disaster just waiting to happen. As the US continues to weaken, Russia will surely take advantage of this country's weakened state, and possibly in a "surprise" move, come against the US. Our country is already a laughing stock of the world, and any enemy/former enemy has no respect whatsoever for this nation. Apparently it's perfectly safe for an enemy nation to make threats to obliterate us, even as we are signing over the insanity for this treacherous nation to "monitor itself" and "be good".

We're a joke.

And they, and ev'ry body else knows it.

I cannot help but sadly agree. We are definitely the laughing stock of much of the world, and I also say this not as anti-American rhetoric but as concern and desire for radical change to improve. We are going broke trying to police the world, and becoming hated and resented for it at the same time. We are gutting everything important in this nation to support wars on too many fronts. We have arguably the most ignorant and apathetic populace among so-called developed nations.

I don't know that we are the laughing stock of the world. Most people know we have such good people here in our country. I don't like the policing of the world but it's not as bad as it was under Bush. We withdrew from Iraq and don't have that many troops in Afganistan. I don't know how to spell it. But we are not as bad as we were under Bush that's for sure. IMHO Mark my friend.

The problem is that when we go in we dont finish the job abd therefore make the situation even worse. If we go in we must commit to finishing the job which in most cases is long term

I would agree that the war-mongering isn't as bad now as it was under Bush. But it's still appalling to me. We spend more than 10 times as much on the military as we do teaching our children. Pure insanity.

Did you know that in a recent survey of over 2000 Americans, 1 in 4 thought that the Sun revolves about the Earth? Or that nearly half thinks the Earth is less than 10,000 years old? Such ignorance is shocking, and makes many around the world understandably laugh at us. Teachers are afraid to teach fundamental scientific truths for fear of offending beliefs. Truth should never be suppressed because of belief, especially when it comes to science education.

My fiancee has family in Malaysia and Singapore...and we sometimes compare the math assignments that our respective nieces and nephews come to us for help. Her family is consistently about 6 years ahead of mine in terms of math/science. It saddens both of us to see the kids here so severely shortchanged.

I think we'd do better not to go in in the first place and then we would have nothing to finish. We can't make the world obey us~

Russia long term is making a play to control the region and in the process the oil, by destabilizing the region they create uncertainty and in the process raise the price of oil which is a large part of their economy so it helps them as well.

You didn't offend. I am very liberal to it going off topic. It seems a lot of things get said that way. Bless you.

That's a strange comment particulary as they supply Europe with most of its gas!

Having watched the US instigated and led financial war against the Russian Federation, it was more than obvious that in its early days that it had a great negative impact on Russia, but due to the US assault it forced them to heavily restructure their financial system where they have now formed the BRIC consortium where Brazil, Russia, India, China and South Africa have developed a new financial global system with its own World Bank that even Australia has joined.

They are now in the process of replacing the US dollar as the preferred international currency and if this goes the way that they hope, where if they replace the US Dollar with their own currency, then the US dollar could very well crash.

I don't know if the US pressure on the EU to sanction Russia is intended to weaken both the EU and Russia, where I suspect that the US is playing both the EU and Russia against each other in an attempt to strengthen their own economy. Unfortunately, as most US foreign polices tend to either create chaos or go belly-up, then I will not be surprised to see this new BIC's consortium being the reason that the US financial system eventually fails.

they all have their "plans " and the lord says he will put a hook in their nose and bring them all.... and there he will reckon with them (something about it taking 7 mnths non stop for Israel to bury the dead and cleanse the land )
