Family of teen who broke neck wants police body cam footage

Isn't it always someone else's fault when their beloved babies run from police and haven't done anything wrong??? I say that dripping in sarcasm.

"Hughes suffered multiple neck fractures and a severe spinal cord injury after falling off a fence. McDonough police say he was chased by officers responding to a call about teenagers smoking marijuana June 12. An officer deployed his stun gun and attempted to get Hughes off the fence before he fell.

Hughes is charged with obstruction of justice and possession of marijuana."

Parents should be teaching their children to not run from authority figures and to take personal responsibility if they're committing a crime. Or hey, how about teaching them to not commit crimes?

Why would anyone take responsibility when you can blame someone else, further a political agenda, and get compensated very richly along the way?

Unfortunate, a case of a very bad accident and the punishment far exceeding the crime.

He should be thanking God he's still alive because neck injuries can be deadly. Next time he can't run, can he? There are always consequences to actions whether we like them or not.

Except it isn't really, unless you want to consider the deliverer of the punishment to be karmic justice or some such. He ran from the police and ended up badly injured. A tragedy for sure, but it's not as if anybody forced him to run. The injury was a consequence of running away, not a consequence for smoking a joint.

Some time ago, some African-American teen boy got into some trouble (I don't remember what the issue was) and the News interviewed his mother, her son at her side. The mom hit her son in the side of the head and yelled at him about growing up and acting right. All this the camera "got" and the News aired. I LOVED IT! Not that she hit him (in a way that was not dangerous), I don't support hitting kids, but I LOVED she acted like a parent instead of blaming and rebuking everything BUT their kid's behavior and perhaps their own parenting.

I googled in hopes I could find this.... I could not but I found this similar one from about the same time.... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=J5aNhO7c4qw
