HGTV Smart Home Giveaway 2019

Has anyone entered the HGTV Smart Home Giveaway 2019? I found out about it yesterday and started entering. I know I have no chance of winning and wouldn't want to move to Texas but it's a pretty cool looking house and I need a new vehicle so I wouldn't mind winning that even though I'm not a Mercedes Benz fan.

I don't think most winners live in the house anyway. So even if you won, you would be joining the past winners in selling the house. I'm not a Benz fan either, is that what the car would be? I have entered the contest before, but I haven't done it in a few years. I do like HGTV.

I had to look it up. Last year (2018) the estimated tax or assumption (depending on which state the winner lives in) would total about $650,000.00! I think that includes the property tax along with income tax. Ouch!

That's probably what I would do. I read where some winners just give the house back without taking possession of it so they don't have to sell it and then pay the taxes. Not sure how that works. I'd probably have to give the car back too.

There was one winner who took a loan out on the new house and then turned it into a Bed & Breakfast.
