Unity and Divisions

I appeal to you, brothers, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree, and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be united in the same mind and the same judgement. For it has been reported to me by Chloe’s people that there is quarrelling among you, my brothers. What I mean is that each one of you says, I follow Paul, or I follow Apollos, or I follow Cephas, or I follow Christ. Is Christ divided? Was Paul crucified for you? Or were you baptised in the name of Paul? I thank God that I baptised none of you except Crispus and Gaius, so that no one may say that you were baptised in my name. (I did baptise also the household of Stephanas. Beyond that, I do not know whether I baptised anyone else.) For Christ did not send me to baptise but to preach the gospel, and not with words of eloquent wisdom, lest the cross of Christ be emptied of its power. (I Corinthians 1:10-17)

John Wesley comments:

Now I exhort you - Ye have faith and hope; secure love also. By the endearing name of our Lord Jesus Christ - infinitely preferable to all the human names in which ye glory. That ye all speak the same thing - They now spoke different things, 1Co 1:12 And that there be no schisms among you - No alienation of affection from each other. Is this word ever taken in any other sense in scripture? But that ye be joined in the same mind - Affections, desires. And judgement - Touching all the grand truths of the gospel.​

I will pray for you to the Lord God that you may manage to count past 1054 and learn the significance of the numbers that you write and also avoid the sectarian divisions that arose in times past and continue today. I shall, God willing, also invoke the holy angels, the blessed saints and martyrs and Blessed Mary ever Virgin and the apostles to pray for you to the Lord God.

I was just pointing out the year of the first great schism which occured in the Catholic church... no offence to you, you had nothing to do with it. Protestants believe that we are all equally priest, so in that respect we as believing Christians are the Church and are united.
I don't believe in denominations, I do believe in the one Body of Christ. These different denominations are more like personalities which should reflect on Johns letters to the seven churches, yet they are all ONE

The great schism was not within the Catholic Church is was when schismatic Orthodoxy broke communion with the Catholic Church. Orthodoxy has been prone to schism within its own ranks ever since though I will say in favour of the Orthodox that their practise and doctrine has on the whole been true to the faith of the Catholic Church but with errors mixed in and a terrible tendency to enslave themselves to political authority.
