Test Lottery

I'm trying out the Lottery feature in our CH Shop. Head on over there and purchase a ticket for 10 CH Cash, pick your numbers and on October 3rd, let's see if anyone wins. I'm not sure if I can see how many people purchase tickets or not, so if you do, post here please?

If we find that we don't have an easy winner, I'd like to adjust the settings! Thanks for helping with my experiment and have fun.

You pick 7 out of 34. Get all 7 correct and you win the first place prize of 500 CH Cash. 5 out of 7 receives 300 CH Cash. 4 out of 7 receives 250 CH Cash.

I can change any of those options. I can make it less than 34 numbers to choose from. I can change the amount correct to win. I can change the CH Cash payouts. For now let's see how this one works out. We can have more than one lottery going with different winnings too!

There are 5,379,616 ways to choose 7 numbers from 34 and 480,700 ways to choose 7 numbers from 25, so that's a substantial difference. If you lowered the number of choices to 5, then we find there are 53,130 ways to choose 5 from 25.

I have lowered the number to 5 for picking... and changed the payouts for amount of numbers correctly picked as well. Let's see if this makes it better!

Out of curiosity, is there a rollover option for the lottery? This way if no one wins, the prize gets added to the next drawing. That could add to the excitement.

I didn't see anything in the settings about it. It would be nice though, wouldn't it?

Edited to add...nope. No setting for that. I would have to manually change the prize amount each week.

Having to manually edit the lottery settings each time there is no winner, and then having to reset it back to the original prize amount when there is a winner sounds like more trouble than it would be worth.
