The rules state that promotion of non-Christian beliefs is not allowed. Can you explain what is meant by promotion?

good question .
imo ,posting ANY thing that is in opposition to any part of the truth of the lord JESUS is a promotion that is ANTI christ .. simply because it is anti christ (don't get hung up the title .. look at the terminology )

Since the Nicene Creed forms the basic/fundamental definition of christianity for this site "non-christian" might be that which is contrary to the creed.

The Statement of Faith has the Nicene Creed as MoreCoffee pointed out is a good basis for what constitutes Christian beliefs.

I sometimes wonder if the doctrine of credo-baptism is in full and unreserved accord with the clause of the creed that says I confess one baptism for the forgiveness of sins.

Romanos can correct me, but I believe that proselytizing of other religions is what is not allowed here. I think that he prefers to keep the rules very vague and take things as they come on a case by case basis.

So is it not permitted to "promote" DOGMAS such as the Immaculate Conception of Mary, Imfallible Pontiff of the Catholic Church, Purgatory, Transubstantiation, etc. DOGMAS of one singular denomination wholly missing from the Nicene Creed (and Apostles and Athanasian)?

Best to avoid interpretations of one singular individual person whose opinion is not held by the majority of professing christians :)

We've been told repeatedly that people enjoy how loose the rules are here. Why tighten them up. Let Romanos judge when the situation arises if something is being discussed that will harm the souls of the members. The Statement of Faith is a starting point, let's not get legalistic but just enjoy our discussions.
