chrome didnt live up to my expectations. it became slow these past few weeks. so slow that i tried tweaking under the hood without success. plus, it used a ton of web cache. so now, iam using a reletively unheard of browser called UC which uses same platform as chrome. it has a web accelerator that i like. it also has cloud boost if need to really speed up your internet. ive tried so many browsers in the past. hoping this one is the only one to rely on.

When my browsers were slow I found out it was my modem that needed rebooting. Now I have no problems with Firefox or Chrome. Best of luck to you with UC, I've never heard of it.

I have been using Firefox for almost 15 years now as my main browser...I love the development tools and the look and feel, but is is a huge memory hog (leaks memory bad). As a web developer, I have had fewer issues reported to me by users browsing with FF and Chrome. I have been known to employ code that blocks IE users and tells them to upgrade to a modern W3C compliant browser (like FF or Chrome), and then come back. Some developers will hack their code and bloat it writing workarounds for IE, but I refuse. I figure if more developers refuse to support IE, it will go away sooner. ;)

I find after a couple of hours, FF is using over a GB of RAM and it becomes unresponsive, and I have to shut it down and reload and begin again. Chrome seems to hold steady in its RAM usage. But FF is a must for vBulletin development as the search in templates feature does not work in Chrome. :)

It would be quite a bit of work for one person to code a usable browser I would think. I will rely on those products from companies that can pour millions of man hours into them. :D
