Is he fooling you, or he honestly doesn't know? Sometimes we're good actors.

OH you caught on to his scheme, eh? Yes, he's fooling. He does that with most things so I cave and just do it. Tip to husbands, wives HATE that!

When I was married, I did not allow my wife to do the laundry...she did it woefully incorrectly. She did not sort by color/fabric, she stuffed the washer, then added an unmeasured amount of detergent directly onto the clothes, crammed the lid shut and used the same cycle for everything. Then she would allow the clothes to sit in the dryer for hours before folding. I fired her from that duty, and did it myself.

In my house there are 2 ways to do things...my way or the wrong way. :D

Husbands like to be 'incompetent' for any onerous task in and around the house :p

Is this in a common laundry room for several apartments or something?

My lint filter only has lint of my own laundry in it :p

Yikes! When I was in an apartment, I rarely used the laundry room in the complex, but went to a laundromat every week. There was no way I would use those machines if I could help it, unless it was an emergency load. It seemed the washer was snapping its belt every other week.

Mine didn't do laundry until a couple of years ago. I was living out of town to attend school so he was forced to do laundry. Once I graduated and returned, he still does his own and I do mine. What a relief to not have to make sure his stuff is clean when he wants it done. He has no one to blame but himself.

It is very rare for apartments in Australia not to have an in-apartment laundry room or closet. I guess Australians just do not like the idea of shared laundry facilities if they can avid them.

I did most of the laundry when we were first married due to my wife's health issues. Then it got passed to No. 1 Son, then No. 2 Son, and make No. 1 daughter does it. With a four and a two year old bringing up the rear, it will be done time before I need to do it again.
