Lab Results

Found out today I have gone from pre-diabetic to Diabetic. I have to make an appointment with the Diabetes Educator and it's very close to go to so that's a plus.

My blood platelet count is half of what it should be and the np says it is probably due to liver disease.

My liver enzymes are elevated but the blood in the tube clotted so I have to get that particular test done again.

Then I have to make some appointments to see the specialists for all of the health issues I've acquired.

I'm sorry Ruth. With diabetes education is the key so I am glad you are going to see someone. If they offer classes take them. I had several classes my first few years I was diagnosed. I'll be praying for you.

Thank you jsimms. I have already been looking up what to eat for diabetes on the net and will go to see the educator. I hope he/she has hand outs of the diet.

They will probably tell you to do a low carb, high protein diet. It is usually the breads that get me. I found if I stay below 40 carbs a meal then my blood sugar doesn't go up very dramatically, but everyone is different.
