like many old testament events involving Israel or important people in Israel the Exodus might be an picture of a salvation event that is finally realised in Jesus Christ's life. What do you think might be the anti-type of this huge production event of the Exodus from Egypt?

I've heard some folks from my church that say the parting of the red sea and crossing through it was a baptism... but think about it, the water never touched them and it was kind of the whole point.

Neither did crossing the Red Sea forgive their sins (as compared to “repent and be baptized for the forgiveness of sin”)

Noah and Israel were both saved FROM the water of judgement. Christians are washed clean THROUGH the water of baptism.
The blood of the Passover lamb was applied to the doorpost to turn away wrath. The Blood of Christ washes away our sin and makes us Children of God.
We have a new covenant that really is better than the old covenant (just like Hebrews says).

Exodus 17:6 is a fantastic image of Christ in the Old Testament

"I will stand before you on the rock at Mount Sinai. Strike the rock, and water will come gushing out. Then the people will be able to drink.” So Moses struck the rock as he was told, and water gushed out as the elders looked on."

It is significant that God the Father stands by the side as the Rock is struck. And what happens because of the strike? Living water pours out to give refreshment to the chosen people of God.
It is also of note that the next time the people were thirsting, God told Moses to speak to the Rock. There was no need to strike the Rock a second time. In fact, Moses was not allowed to enter the promised land because He struck the Rock again instead of just speaking to the Rock.
There is much to ponder in this if one is willing to be quiet and observe.

The anti-type of Israel-s exodus from Egypt is recorded in Matthew chapter two.

Matthew 2:13-15 And after they had gone away, behold, an Angel of the Lord appeared in sleep to Joseph, saying: "Rise up, and take the boy and his mother, and flee into Egypt. And remain there until I tell you. For it will happen that Herod will seek the boy to destroy him."

14 And getting up, he took the boy and his mother by night, and withdrew into Egypt. 15 And he remained there, until the death of Herod, in order to fulfil what was spoken by the Lord through the prophet, saying: "Out of Egypt, I called my son."
