Actually, we're saints and sinners at the same time. Saints because we're covered by Christ's blood and sinners because we still sin.

That is an impossibility. Christ's blood takes away the sin of the world. If you sin, you are a saint that sins. But if you sin you have an advocate, our Lord who charges our sin to His account.

1 John 1:8English Standard Version (ESV)
8 If we say we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us.

If you sin you are still a sinner but as a Christian you are covered by Christ's righteousness. Law and Gospel both remain.

I know sin lives in the flesh, but that does not make us sinners. We are saints. We are sons/daughters of God. Blameless in His sight. Righteousness that comes by grace through faith in Christ Jesus has been imputed unto us.God has placed all of our sin into the sea of forgetfulness.

Only if repented of. There are many with unrepentant sin in their lives and many who live in the flesh rather than in the spirit

Does some definitions of predestination impact the free will of God?

What is your definition of sinner then?

We still have the Old Adam within us that sins. That makes us sinners. We have the blood of Christ covering us. That makes us saints. Both are true.

I'm not sure what YOUR definition of sinner is.

LOL!:smlove2: That is fair. My definition of a sinner is one who has not been born again. The sinful body is going to be destroyed because of the corruption of sin. But our bodies are not us who have been made new in Christ Jesus. We are spirits. We have a soul, we are housed in a body. The New creature is our spirit man. If any man be in Christ he is a new creature. Old things are passed away, behold all things are become new. We are triune like our Father in heaven. But our souls have been hardwired to this world. That is why Paul says in Romans 12:2 And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God. Now renewing our minds is a process. We have been washed in the blood of the crucified Christ. Our Victory is in Him. Christ in us, the hope of Glory! Hallelujah.

Ah, see, that's not how I view the term though so no wonder you disagreed.

Well,I always say that we are our Father's children. As He is, so are we in this world.

Again, you're trying to place blame on God when the blame goes on man.

So you reject the scripture that clearly states man can fall away? There is more, but I only chose to list a few since you belittled me last time when I gave you more in a different thread (you really shouldn't belittle others).

You see, even though we KNOW what the Gospel states, since God's Word also gives warnings, we have to believe those too. We cannot discard them saying they aren't true because that calls God a liar.

How am I placing the blame on God? I'm not saying God causes anyone to fall away. I'm saying no one will fall away because not only is Jesus a Good shepherd, He says He will not lose ANY that the Father has given Him. To say that some cam be lost puts a rift in the Godhead. Not to mention, the Spirit seals us.

So if someone could possibly fall away, they would be more powerful than the Spirit, and there'd be a division in the Trinity.

Do you think that one's planned future sins, the ones a person knowingly intends to do, are forgiven in advance of doing them thus giving advance absolution to the sinner to sin as he or she pleases without any possibility of loss of a saving relationship with God?

I think Christ bore the penalty for the sins of His people.

He did, but is that an answer for my question?

No. Since Jesus took the penalty of sins for His people, there is no penalty. Loss of a saving relationship is a penalty.

Doesn't your stated reply mean that a person can sin as they please and still have remission? What incentive is there for moral reform for a person who is 'saved' but has decided that a life of moral turpitude and crime suits them?

Their love of God and wanting to be pleasing to their Father. That's what a new heart and being a new creation does.

I have a friend, a married man whose family (wife & children) are evangelicals and who was himself an evangelical until he became an atheist. He does not live a life or riot and wickedness but he does not love God - as a matter of fact he does not believe God exists at all. So is a chap, such as him, who was 'saved' and is an atheist now assured of heavenly bliss in the hereafter like the chap who lives in moral turpitude and crime but was 'saved' before?

Looks like he is either the second or third soil in the parable. One that looks good at the beginning, but isn't really saved. They are also referred to as tares in another context.

And the chap who decides that a life of sin and degradation suits himself, having been saved ... what soil would be his case be like?
