Today is the feast day of my namesake, St. Andrew the Apostle ( who also happens to be the patron Saint of Scotland). Now, St. Andrew was Simon Peter's younger brother, who first told him that " they found the Messiah " ( John 1:41) and led his older brother to Jesus. St. Andrew was one of the disciples of St. John the Baptist who instantly left his old mentor when the latter saw Jesus walking by and said, " behold, the Lamb of God Who takes away the sins of the world" ( John 1:29). I'll provide a couple of links below so those who are interested may have access to the biography of the holy apostle and why he was chosen to be Scotland's patron saint.
