We have a treadmill that's about 18 years old and it needs a new belt. I'm wondering if it's worth it to try to replace it by myself?

i would call the company and see if they will send someone out. i did that when i had a treadmill in Virginia before i was married and they came to my house and fixed it for a small cost. Since it is so old though it might not be worth fixing it

They no longer produce this one unfortunately so it wouldn't be serviced by them. Plus the belt alone is $99! I don't think I could afford to pay someone

If I remember correctly, it was still under warranty, so it didn't cost me anything for them to come fix it.

I am in the process of thinking about exercising which is the first step~I need to find some really gentle easy to do ones for older people. I have some saved on my computer but I am going to use my smart tv when I start and type in gentle exercise for seniors.

Have you seen some of the indoor walking videos? I used to have one and it was fun and now my sister is doing one when the weather is bad she just walks indoors. It isn't just walking in place, it's movements like playing tennis or basketball so you're getting a workout. You can modify moves to do as little as you need to start off.

Lamm, I can do very little now, so I am going to start with gentle stretches.
