I had a 7th grade Social Studies teacher who was obsessed with the Soviet Union...which means that's what I mostly remember about the class. We learned so much about it that I don't think kids today are even taught. The Cold War? Scary times but kids aren't taught much about it.

Russia itself is small but the USSR which is what is depicted is so much larger. People confuse Russia with the USSR and to many the names are interchangable but Russia is just one part of the whole
