Hi Ruth, do you do cross stitch? I have some fun patterns I want to make for ornaments for my nieces and nephews.
Hi ... You ladies who sew might like this ... I was at the 110th anniv. of one church I attend Sunday, (a really nice affair, btw) and they had all these archives up front on display from over the years. Hanging up was a big tablecloth w alot of signatures on it.
What it was, ... Some years back some of the members would have potluck dinners, going roundrobin at diff members houses. One lady had a big tablecloth on her dining room table, and she would have the diff guests sign their name on it (rather largely) with a marker.
She eventually hand-EMBROIDERED the signatures (there may be 20+ of them) in diff colors, and now all these years later there's this nice tablecloth that can be handed down as a sort of practical memorial, and a way for beloved friends/family from the past (when the congregation was MUCH bigger) to still 'say hello' and perhaps to remind ppl of the importance to keep together in love as friends and brothers and sisters in Christ and also a pointer towards the feast to come at the banquet table with Jesus.
