Yes good question. And why do certain posters INSIST it always means water when it doesnt say water. Why dost there needs be these restrictions on Gods word when it doesnt sayeth 'water only'? Canst it not be juice? Or eggnog, in honor of the holidays? Here's a slew of verses where the English word baptism is used. Must all these verses be referencing water as the one and only baptism God ever uses? Must we force water upon every use of the word baptism?
How might we know when water is being used and when it is not mentioned?

For those of you who need a break, take one. If you're still addressing the text and doctrine then please continue.
True, but they were both circumcised according to the Law. Their parents were obedient to the CommandmentMoreCoffee gave the text.
John the baptist didn't get baptised as a baby though.
I attend at least 2 diff churches on a regulat basis, and they are very diff in both doctrine and practice. One baptizes babies (it's not clear to me why).

John the baptist didn't get baptised as a baby though. Neither did Jesus. And I doubt that any baby is always filled w the Holy Spirit in the whomb. It's possible that one is, but how do you know?
As I said, its not clear to me why that one particular church I happen to attend baptizes babies. The other church I attend doesnt, and I clearly get why they dont.Is it that it's not clear to you why, or that you disagree as to why it's done? I think it's been well explained in many threads why certain churches perform infant baptism.

A third church Im not sure of, Ive only attended a few times on Sunday, and Wed nights for prayer and bible, but I dont think they do it. Theyre baptist, though. I just dont get into alot of denominational things,
Im glad Jesus saved me solely by grace thru faith.
