What Does Your Username Mean?

When you registered, you had to choose a username, obviously. How did you choose yours?

I like to use the same name everywhere, just for consistency. When I got involved in the performance car forums, my username was "gauSSian" because I am into math and I had a Camaro SS. When I got involved with math help forums however, I decided the shoes of Karl Gauss were simply too large for me to fill, so I decided just to use my first name followed by both my middle and last initials which happen to be the abbreviation for my home state of Florida. So, I became "MarkFL."

How did you choose your username?

I was LilLamb219 on another site and wanted a change but something that would still have my friends know me in a way. I have German blood and am Lutheran so people often call me Lamikins which is a slaughtering of the German word Lämmchen meaning Little Lamb

Curious story for me. When I logged on to my first ever Christian forum I was broadly hostile to Christianity but since that particular board allowed far more questioning than others did I figured it was a good place to start out. I wanted a name that was sufficiently generic that searching for it would result in endless false hits, yet easy to pronounce and remember.

So tango was born. It's a soft drink, a well known dance, a metaphorical dance, and some nutjob who haunts message boards.

I used to be known as Cruztacean, which is a pun on both my maiden name and my astrological sign. Cruz + the crab which is a crustacean. But it's kind of closed off in a shell, and has a hardened exterior, you know? Then I met my husband, and we were lovebirds. Flying.

Mine means that I had two coffee cups (used for tea rather than coffee) on my desk so I decided I would be MoreCoffee instead of CoffeeCup

My last name is Hamm. When I was in the Marines there was a unit next door called the Helicopter and Maintenance Squadron (HAMS). We called those guys hamsters. One of my officers made the connection to my last name and started calling me Hammster. It stuck. And it's been that for most of my user names.
