Inspired by Lam's post I decided to make pancakes - something I haven't made in ages.

Ingredients: Sprouted Chickpeas (dried and milled), almond milk, chocolate powder, dark muscovado sugar, salt, oil, sodium bicarbonate and apple cider vinegar (for raising)

They were ok. Taste wise could perhaps benefit from a few other spices - like cinnamon. Texture could be improved as well. Not bad for a novice baker.

I use baking powder in my recipe...only a little bit actually and no baking soda. I have vanilla that I make homemade and it gives a delicious flavor!

Home from a doctor's appointment follow up. Blood pressure is great even though the hour's drive in during rush hour traffic wasn't fun!!

I just sampled a piece of "sultana cake" that I bought for $3.20 - it is a big cake, weighs 1 and 3/4 pounds (800 g). It's good but a little sweeter than I expected.

Mmm sounds good. I had a big scoop of ice cream and then put some jam in with it. I was really hungry and that hit the spot!

Look after yourself. Rest and warm and plenty of fluids.

God be with you and bless you.

Thanks, More Coffee. :) I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow. Day Quil and Robitussin isn't going to do it for me this time, I don't think.

Just tried a proof of concept. I don't think you're strictly supposed to use tools this way but I constructed a jig with some plywood offcuts, then cut a near perfect circle in another plywood offcut using my table saw. It was a very slow process and made lots of dust, but does potentially mean I can cut circles without having to buy a bandsaw, which is handy.

Jumping off a swing, to look who comes farthest.
Just tried to put batteries in a toy didnt work and threw the rotten thing away. I did fix my bike though. Didnt work either so I just broke that dumb thing off the chain.

We should start a company together.

I thought it was off but it wasnt. Ruined the chain guard for nothing. Just had to attach another thing. Ah gear cable.
Snerf translated for me. Oh I have to tell you from Snerf that he was praying for you and he asks if you have specific prayer requests and he misses you and the site.

He should come back. We were waiting to hear from him so we could remove the mod queue he was placed in. Actually, I just looked and he's back to the normal account so he was removed from moderator queue a while back.

Thanks, Snerf for the prayers! I'm healing nicely and am cancer free for now...just have to do monthly follow ups with scopes down the nose...ewww.

Having been reasonably happy with my first attempt at cutting a circle (with a 3.75" radius) on my table saw I wondered if I could do a better job, so pruned it down to a 3.5" radius using the exact same jig and saw. This time it came out much better, without the slight nicks and dings that the first attempt had. Maybe not a perfect circle but pretty close. Not bad for a second attempt and using 3/4" plywood.

Next up is to make a 24" circle with an indent in the bottom that's more like a 20" circle. Hopefully that will fit snugly into the trash can I just bought, so I can make a bigger cyclonic separator to help clear the rest of the cellulose insulation out of my crawl space. It's horrible stuff to work with but I need to get it done because it's started to get cold and I don't want to go any longer without insulation than I absolutely have to.

I've got a bunch of fiberglass batts I can put into place, just not enough to cover the entire crawl space. So depending on the exact joist separation I need to go and buy either a bunch of batts or a bunch of rolls of fiberglass. I'm hoping I can use the fiberglass, it's easier to work with and works out cheaper overall. I know I'll be using a lot by the time I'm done, just need to figure out what best to do with the remainder of 20 rolls of the stuff - if I buy 20 I get a 30% bulk discount, which is worth having.

Also experimented with a couple of other things. I watched a Youtube video yesterday of a guy who made a picture frame, molding and all, using only a table saw. I wasn't sure how sensible it was (and if I hadn't seen the video I'd have sworn he was just blowing smoke) but rigged up a couple of angled fence and made a near perfect round cove in a piece of spare wood, using only the table saw. When you stop and think about it, it's not such a stupid thing to do with it, just not something you'd immediately associate with a table saw.

Making picture frames is something I want to get involved in, so maybe I'll start out with a bunch of tips and tricks on the table saw. Sooner or later I need a router and router table but if I can avoid the cost of that for a time it would be helpful.

Fun with table saw, part whatever it is now. As described above, a rather drawn out process that involved overcome a few limitations of my table saw (specifically the size) to cut a 23.5" circle from a 24" square of 3.4" plywood. Cutting the bottom away to make a circle about 20" that will fit as snugly as possible into my trash can was also tricky and took many passes. I reckon I gathered up something like a gallon and a half of sawdust once it was all said and done. I feel like I've got another gallon or so all over me.

I've got a very basic separator going on with a 5 gallon bucket and a small shop vac. The shop vac is handy because I can run it and my power tools on the same 20A socket without tripping the breaker. The larger shop vacs would need to run on a different circuit because once they get to 9-10A and the table saw starts running 12-15A something is going to pop. Once I've got my new breaker panel in place I can rejig the power sockets in the room so that alternating sockets are on different circuits, so I can run a high powered shop vac as well as a high powered saw at the same time.

For now I'm happy to be making progress on a larger separator to help pull the horrible cellulose out of the attic. Now I just need a couple of hole saws to put the pipe attachments into place. Assuming it all works I can suck a full black sack out at a time, which will make a huge difference.
